Spies Girls

It was quite refreshing to see a film that didn't take itself seriously, yet maintain high quality. This is a great little spy spoof that dares to spoof itself. Nice work.

I didn't get all the past fest references, but loved the Amy and Eric scene.

Too funny! This was great. Some of the stuff I didn't like but what I did, I really did. That Norm and RD stuff was funny as hell. Good job. Also liked the song.

Fun film. I had the biggest laugh during the scene when the couple were looking for their son. The actors playing the roles were most convincing too.

Oh, and now I'm reading that there are supposed to be DVX references. Didn't get 'em.. A shame. That one scene with the couple was the best one for me. Even the unexpected shooting of the girl felt like reusing the same joke twice.

Sculpted chest.. lol!

Oh this was funny. More like laugh-out-loud funny. Amazing that you put so much work into something only dvxuser dramafest devotees would get. Great job guys!

Glad you liked the film, Dmitry, Brian's got a GREAT eye for comedy. We had made some suggestions on things we thought might be funny, which he openly listened to, but suggested we try his way first. It worked. :) The above link, BTW, is to the WHERE SILENCE FALLS thread, which then has a link at the top where you can view the film. Some other spoofs he did were on his own material. Go to the previous fests (DramaFest, HeroFest, SciFest, etc.), and search for threads started by Dahopafilms!

Thanks Shawn & others as well! It's interesting ... I just got off the phone with Rebecca, and we both thought the OTHER person was funnier in their role. Just hard to critique yourself, I suppose.

Oh, and kudos to you, Brian, for the continued humor in this thread ...

AT MY EXPENSE, you lousy @#%$@#%!!!!

Seriously, the manipulation of Rebecca's post where she says "He's such a dweeb and I hate him." had me falling out of my chair laughing! The title "Dr. Death" over my picture of me handing off a Category 5 Hurricane to Rebecca, the credit of Norm "Shirley Temple" Sanders on the first page, and the list goes on of uplifting, ego stimulating things that you do for me on a daily, if not hourly basis. How can I ever thank you? Oh, I'll find a way, my friend.

And to anyone who MAY be curious about what goes into a "Category 5 Hurricane", as well as why it may have made the Canadian crew so goofy ... well, here you go:

Although that particular glass (a hurricane glass) does have a rather feminine look to it ... like it's prefect for a Shirley Temple. :undecided:

It is good ... and VERY powerful. Stronger than a Long Island Iced Tea, so be careful & limit yourself to no more than two (unless you have an exceptionally large liver, as I do), or you'll be picking yourself up off the floor!

The nice thing about this one vs. the Long Island, is that you're not mixing a bunch of different drinks (i.e. Vodka, Tequila, Gin, Rum, etc.) ... so it's more predictable & won't make you sick as easily.

Again, no more than two ... please. :)

hehe... I rarely have more than one drink anyway :) don't want to be loopy... but enjoy the flavor of some alcohols...

Here's a nice close up of it, when made/layered correctly. Again, any ol' 12-16 oz glass will do. Sorry to make this a bartending thread, Brian! Back to SPIES GIRLS ... after this lovely picture of Mischa staring down his opponent ...

So I take a few hours off to attend to some business, get back and the kids have broken into the liquor cabinet.

Sheesh!

OK - I really need to intervene here.

The following (unlike much of what has been posted in this thread) is absolutely true. Any of my crew on the Vancouver, Washington shoot will attest to this. Rebecca (who is an angel and never lies) will also confirm this.

Do you sense Norm's enthusiasm for this drink?

See the picture above?

Guess where it comes from. Really ... guess.

It comes from ... Norm's wallet.

Seriously. The absolute truth.

Normy carries around his worn, little diagram of this drink wherever he goes.

Then he goes into a bar and whips it out. Everyone gasps.

Absolute truth.

Two words for you Norm:

Betty.

Ford.

If you want to help Norm, please feel free to go here: PLEASE HELP NORMAN

Seriously. We don't want to experience another Robert Downey Jr. in our own DVXUser community.

Thank you.

It's rare that an inde swhort is actually funny all the way through. I think I may have laughed through a few punch lines. I'll have to watch it again. Great Job!
