My microphone won't fit on the A1...

I'm using an Audio-Technica 4073a, and I can't seem to get the thing to fit on the A1 in the little shotgut mic holder. The mic isn't quite thick enough. Any idea how I'm supposed to make it fit? I was just going to wrap some grippy fabric around it to fill the space, but I assume there's a more professional way to go about it...right?

No, Canon dropped the ball on the mic holder, it's just of a weird size. You'll have to fill up the space with something.

sure fired "professional way"
1 wrap till it fits
2 get new mic(who is mic btw, Jagger has been taken/used /drug induced for years. Mike is just a to nomal )

Yeah, I cut a piece of black foam packaging and stuffed it in there. I keep extras in case it falls of between microphone removals.

I saw Sony was selling something for that problem on their units for $20 (4 pieces)! Ridiculus.

I wouldn't trust the mic holder to insulate from handling noise anyway. I use the Rode shockmount which works very well.
