Okay... here we go, moment of truth. After 4 months of blood, sweet, and tears... my movie is ready for the public. I know I've been teasing you guys the past several months with screenshots and clips so I'm sure many of you want to see the final product. Overall, I'm fairly happy with the movie and as a filmstudent, it was a great learning experience. I did the best I could with student actors and a budget under $1,000. I will be first to admit that the movie is far from perfect but like I said, overall... I'm happy with it. Again, thanks to those of you who purchased the DVD and everyone here for their support! Anyway, enough chit-chat and enjoy!

A much bigger 480p and HD 720p version of the film is now available through my new website:

Man oh man. That actually exceeded my expectations, and I didn't think that was gonna be possible.

I'm at a loss for words here... I don't even know what to say, except that that was absolutely fantastic.

Congrats on a spectacular project.

EDIT: what now? do you have plans for "getting it out there"?

Wow, thanks for the flattering kind words. As for what now? I'm not sure. I'm not really familiar with festival circuits and I'm really not sure if it's good enough.

Wow, yes this is good enough for festivals. I've been to only one film festival in Rotterdam and those were pretty good movies, but this is far better than what I've seen there. Very good job. I really love it. There's a nice emotional feeling in this movie. Great acting, music, editing etc. I love it.

that was great. pablo is the best actor i've ever seen in a student film. i turn off 99% of student films within the first minute because the acting is so bad it's like fingernails on a chockboard, but he made everything very believable in this.

"I'm not really familiar with festival circuits and I'm really not sure if it's good enough."

what do you have to lose? you should at least submit it to 1 or 2 festivals just to get a feel for the envirnment, if nothing else. besides, you have a good chance of winning something. and if not, then at least you will know what to expect next time. have fun with it.

Congratulations Marlon, you've made a beautiful little film. I've seen a lot of student films over the last three years, and very few have had the sort of polish and attention to detail that you've shown. Well done mate.

marlon love the visuals.but the girls acting is realy throwing it off for me.i feel if the story was cut down the young ladys acting would be a little more tolerable for me.I think you have an opportunity to be one of the sought after dp's out there.once my short is done i'd like everyone to keep it real with me also.Love this comunity.Congradulations marlon on acomplishing what most people only dream about.

Thanks. When I said I know my film has problems in my first post, my actress was one of those problems. But hey, shes just a friend not actress so I can't really blame her. If anything, it was my fault. I should of picked talent over physical appearance but I was naive enough to think that I could direct her to a great performance.

man, that was incredible!

serious kudos for tihs project. everything about it blew my mind. obvoiusly in my previous posts i was being nit picky, so those comments remain, but overall, wowzers!!!

i am only slightly confused abvout the plot, i am not sure it is 100% clear exactly what the resolution of this film is? What exactly happened to our hero? so on...

Well there are three interpretations of the ending. You can get one pretty easily just by watching this movie, but you can come up with 2 other interpretations if you watch "Junipero". :) One thing I don't like to do as a filmmaker is TELL you what happened. :)

ahh okay, junipero is something different, i hadnt a clue, but now im watching and im following ya all the way :)

lets work together one day yes?

These two shorts, stupendous. Beautiful images, beautiful music, good story. By the way, did you use a 35 mm adapter and if so what kind and what lens? It looks great!

I used a Redrock M2, nikon lenses.

I think your actress is fine. She's great looking, has screen presence--(which isn't an easy thing to have)and in my opinion is as good as your actor. She works well on camera. The flaw is her delivery--and with some acting training she could improve greatly. Her inner work is authentic and clean she says a lot with her silent inner monologue and that's very important. Perhaps when she delivers her lines it's disappointing--because she promises so much more. I don't think you need to apologize for her performance. it's just my opinion.
