Sooooo.. when you head to the theatres this weekend, look for the trailer and think.. "Hey.. I know the guy who did one of the pieces of music for that trailer!" (and earn some brownie points with the ladies.)

my cue is at ~1:23 seconds into it.

Thanks Ted and David! Ya, it's definitely some cool news in the trailer world. :)

As for cristo. Roadblocks after roadblocks. I bit the bullet to get a new system (not only for music but for editing) and I've run into nothing but problems. I would edit for about 3 hours straight and the system would crash. Then, I'd have to recover and old premiere project file.. then I would load it again and edit a little more.. crash.

So, i'm currently 3/4 finished and clocking in right at 5:3 minutes. So, I'm thinking I'll be able to edit the film down to the 6, but I really need to get my VFX to my guys, but at the moment I can't even access the files. Towards the final end of my adventure with the old system, some of the files would come up as "offline". I would shut down and others would pop up as 'offline'. never ending battle... Then, now that I have my new system, fresh install of XP, new everything, ALL the files are coming up as "offline".

I'm tired of complaining. It's going to be a battle to see whether or not I'll pull through with it.

Anyone have a Premiere system here in LA that they could loan to me for 3 days? :)

/j

Justin, glad you got a new system, however, I am not glad it's giving you heck... Looking forward to the film though, and I am sure you'll pull it through!

On another note, I'm sending you an email about a little project I am working on.

Justin, that sucks about the new system woes. Seems to me like PP6 is an older version. I have had 6.5 for a few years now, though I don't even touch my PC anymore now that I have a mac.

Good luck with the hurdles.

And keep up the great work in the trailer world... that is just awesome news for you!

Justin,

I don't use Premiere Pro and I'm sure you've thought of this, but:

Are the files mapped with a different path on the new machine?

Are you running anti-virus software?

Are the files on an external drive?

Can you view the files (.avi) using a media player (realplayer, Windows Media Player)?

Just a few thoughts. Let me know if there is any way that I can help!

Robert

back in biznisss..

I'm not sure what the hell happened, but I guess after a few installs of xp and umteen hundred computer restarts, the premiere file is back online. (don't ask how, cause I have no clue. f'n computers)

But, I think i'm going to try and export what I have and end out the edit in vegas.

thanks everyone for your help on the matter. glad it's finally back and running.

Dude! That's about where we were at... just under 9, pre-FX.... We just finished a version under 6 about 2am this morning. Good luck!!!!:thumbup:

Shew!! Got the Final 6 minute cut all locked and ready to go! Talking about "Killing your Babies" (as J.C. liked to say). Hopefully this cut will make sense and tell the whole story.

now for the fun part. Music and sound!! :)

Just don't forget... the assasin who killed the lead was the most important character. I think he should get the most screentime...
