Where is my P2 card and book?

Has anyone else had issues with getting an answer from Panasonic on the status of their rebate? I have been tring for two weeks to find out when I am going to receive my 8gig P2 card and HVX book by Bary Green via phone calls and emails with no response from Panasonic.

Dose anyone know a better way of getting their attention?

I've read that Panasonic is seriously backordered.

How long since you sent in the request?
 
In addition to this the preceived value of the the card was 1400 now it is appox the same price for a 16gig card. Do you think panasonic will do the right thing and upgrage the card to a 16gig to match the value of the original purchase?
 
Do the right thing? It's a free card...

Concerning rebate time... 12-16 weeks is the 'estimate' So, you are still in the timeframe. But, yes... the rebates have been taking a while.

Maybe Panasonic should change their lead time they have posted on their website for the rebate from 4-6 weeks to 12-16.
 
I remember Jan (I think) saying that they were changing the 'estimate' to 12-16 weeks on the board somewhere on a thread dealing with peoples rebates.

I sent the rebate last December and when I hadn't received the card or book when promised I called and was told that I was only due the book because I'd purchased the HVX before last October (I received mine last April). I eventually got the book, about a month ago, but sadly no 8gig card. Seems unfair, as i own the HVX, three 4gig cards and the P2 Store. Love the camera and all, but doesn't seem fair. Finished my short in March and will shoot a feature with the HVX next.

In December they extended the rebate to March 07. Sounds like you have a case for a new 8gig card.

Carey - Which number did you call to check on your rebate?

I sent my rebate stuff in with signature required and I have a signature confirmation, but it would be great to get a verbal confirmation that everything is moving along..

Can't imagine who you asked as most of those phone calls and emails get funneled to me. So send me a private message with your serial number and your name and address along the name of your vendor and I will let you know.

Sorry, I'm on the road until aprox the 16th, don't have the number with me. It was a phone number that was included in the on-line confirmation I received at the time I registered, it was with the registration number they assigned. I believed the girl I spoke with had a surname similar to mine, Burke or Burkes or some such. She was with a rebate cernter I think Panasonic set up through an outside firm. Good luck

If you don't find the number sooner I'd be glad to forward it to you when I return.

I know you're right about extending the rebate forward, but I was told that having bought the HVX earlier than last October made me ineligible for the 8 gig card. Really sucks, considering all the fits and starts the early birds had to put up with in getting their units. I even had my vendor raise the price on the camera I had locked in with a deposit months earlier (Barb). Paid promised/locked-in price, then some, and considered too early for the 8 gig card rebate to boot, but I got the book. How could I qualify for the book and not the card?

It's a mystery!

Everybody who has ever purchased the HVX gets the book as a rebate. The p2 card rebate was vald for people who purchased between October, 1st of '06 - March, 31st of '07, if I remember my dates correctly.
