Buying a Used HVX200

Does anyone here know where I can find a used HVX200 for sale. I have tried craigslist and eBay and have been unsuccessful so far. Any help would be appreciated.

My bad. I figured it was blocked to new users like it is on DVinfo.net. I still don't know why that site doesn't let new users look through the classifieds. It seems to me that they are the most likely to want to purchase used equipment.

All you have to do is register at dvinfo.net.

Name and password

To clairify: your REAL name and a password. They kill registrations that aren't actual names. And the reason they don't let guests view the classifieds is that they had multiple instances of fraud by people just stopping by. This forum polices itself much more than dvinfo.net, where it is basically Chris doing most of the work himself with a few mods.

A while back there was a guy trying to run some scams on the classified section here. There was almost a impromptu lynch-mob formed by the members...

Just another reason this place is so great...

I wish we used real names too. And for the most part I find that those who want to be taken professionally, do use their real names. Many, many users have requested that we change their ID to their real name, which is an encouraging trend.

But a very high percentage of our users have opted for made-up names, company names, or whatever else. If that's something they feel strongly about, should we empirically enforce a change?

Anyone who wants to use their real name (and we do encourage using your real name), please send a PM to Jarred and he'll change it for you.

As far as avatars, when we find one that's out of line we request it be changed. If there's one in particular you're concerned about, send a PM to one of the mods.

Keep watching the marketplace section here. I started watching the section last month and a couple of week later jumped on a used HVX deal.

the reason I opt for a fake name is because I don't like all of my stupid questions to come up in G**gle searches. If this site would keep itself free of g**glebots, I'd use my real name.

It's a privacy issue.

Use your first name with a last name initial.

That's a compromises.

I have a very lightly used (33 hours) HVX-200 with 2 4gb P2 cards and two batteries that I would like to sell. Asking $5000. I've shot three or four short productions with this camera, mostly on P2. The camera is pristine, like new. Bought through Pro dealer in SF Bay Area, have receipts, not a gray camera. Please contact me via email or my phone is 415-516-3838.

Camera package has been sold to a dvx user...

I don't like to use my real name for various reasons.
The first being that one day, the internet will hold all these posts, and everything will be available online. I think that is a very serious issue for identity theft.

"They" are starting to link e-mail addresses to identity and credit reports, and all the things you do will be linked, or made into a data base somewhere.

Your credit card numbers, passwords, pay pal accounts, etc.
I do not want my personal info linked world wide. On classmates.com, many of us
are already linked there via real names. That was when I quit using mine.
All of the old ex-girlfriends came out of the wood work, some good, some bad.

Not only that, I worked as a professional still photographer for many years, and worked for clients who may not have liked some of the other clients I worked with. I worked for Canon, and Kodak, but shot Fuji film. Kodak would not have liked that.

I also managed 14 photography studios once owned by Hallmark. They used Kodak film, In my personal and side commissioned work, I used Fuji.

Now I work for Fuji, and do other IT work in hospitals, as well as video, indie films, event video, some commercials, legal video etc.

Due to the fact that I work for many clients with various morality, and or potential conflict of interest disputes, it is just better that I do not post my real name to be linked to everything I do.

Not that there is any thing wrong with what I do or have done, but for example,
if i shoot kid photography and then get asked to do something for Maxim magazine, while i don't have a problem with it, others may.

If I work for Kodak, and shoot fuji film at an event, some may ask questions about that.

Besides, I think it is fun to use names other than real names.
Real names are borring unless you are a company looking for brand identity.
