Lots of great equipment for sale..

I really think this sale was handled very badly and not in a professional manner. I can't verify if I was first, second or third on a bid. I know I tried the honest approach and am not the winner, but I can look in the mirror and that is what counts.

You guys are killing on here. This was never about the money. It's not my equipment, I have nothing vested in it. I'm just doing the distribution company a favor. They didn't even expect to see it again, let alone me sell it. I just got shut down after two years of working and put some gear up for sale. There was hundreds of e-mails. Literally. Early this morning, my producers and I started at the beginning of the list and worked our way up. It was nothing personal. I don't know any of you. So don't sit there behind your computers and judge me. If you got an e-mail in early, you got the gear. You guys are taking this personally. It's not.
 
I can attest that I have been in contact with Marc both from pm, email and other channel of communication. He was overrun with responses and he is INDEED trying to handle this matter as professional and fair as he could.

Despite his hectic schedule and trying to manage the sale, he was very curteous and fair. He is trying very hard to manage the sale as fair as he could.

He is doing us all a very big favor by offering our community good professional equipments at very significant discounts. You and I know he can fetch way more money for his equipments by going the other route.

P/S: There are some stuff that I really wanted, but I got in late and someone was ahead of me. You snooze, you lose.

I am not affilicated with Marc at all and I am like all of you, waiting in line.
 
wow there are some really impatient people on here. marc is doing the board a favor. he's not getting any of this money for himself so it's not like he's trying to screw anyone over. he's been going through pm's all day long because everyone wants a piece of the cake. chill out.
 
Wow, I have to agree here too. I was the first to look at the ad the 04/13 and then pm Marc at 9:52 for the 8GB cards and his price for the 2, then He offered me those at one price. I responded, deal done. His answer was "Cool" and I come back to you Monday morning for the payment. Today I received this answer :

Thanks again for your e-mail regarding my film.

Unfortunately, I'm sorry to tell you that the 8 gig cards have sold already. I had to go in the order that people responded to the sale.

I want to wish you the very best with your filmmaking and I hope that one day I can see some of your work.

I think the point is being missed.
There is no doubt that handling that amount of stuff would be a nightmare on the corrrespondence end. Regardless, you just dont make a sale commitment then nix it saying someone else was first and follow up with how much you would love to see ones film work some day (i got that same message). That is my point.
Now in all fairness, if a seller is getting mixed up and is losing track of who's first on what item, fine. All one would have to do is say so but that hasnt happened.
This isnt personal by any means. Its not about rabid interest, hectic schedules, impatience or needing to chill out as suggested above. Its about the integrity of business conducted on this website. If surprises happen without adequate explanation, then people need to know.

Used to be a mod would jump in and make a correction when people were well over the line . . . I guess we've become a bit more relaxed, a "kinder, gentler community if you will. That, in my opinion, does not imply license for some ignorant jackass sitting at home in his boxers to sling mud at a well respected member of the film community (and contributor to this forum). So grow up or take it outside.
