I'm Lazy, it's my problem.

Here is the thing, I've have a Panasonic AG-DVX100b for almost a year now and I've filmed almost nothing fun with it. I've filmed some weddings, some professional stuff but I really want to get out and make some shorts. I don't know why but when I don't have anything to do I just never want to go out and film. Any help? Suggestion? Comments? Cruel remarks are welcome as well as kind criticism. Thanks everyone.

I kinda get that way sometimes, but once you go out there with a good idea of what you want to do(like a good mental picture of the scenes of your film and sequence of events) and start on a project, you'll get really into it, so much fun, especially if you're working with people you get along with. I am not doing any kind of professional stuff, so the people that are in anything i make are friends and stuff, so it's really enjoyable.

What exactly are you looking for?

Either you have a passion for film-making or you don't.

You are not that unique. Most people have dreams, but few have the discipline to pull it off. It's a number's game, really. I don't know the exact percentages, but of some 20 people I knew, say 10 years ago, who had dreams of making it in the film industry, only one actually pursued it. Most gave up - and every one of them had a "valid" excuse: kids, more school, "I have a career where I'll make some money, and then I'll make a film", "my mom got cancer, I had to take care of her", "I was depressed". Here's the killer: those who make it, are not the ones who don't have the exact same obstackes as these guys have - the difference is that the ones who make it, make it DESPITE the obstacles.

Big, big cliche. Nike ad: JUST DO IT. If you just go out and fool around, the passion will come, and you'll be off and running. What kills, is procrastination.

OT: BennisHahn - OMG!!! What did you do to your avatar??? It was so cool - now it's gone! Have you lost your mind?!?!?!

I always face this problem with my writing and it is in part down to idleness on my part.

I always find that periods of being lazy are only brought to an end by clear goals. I overcome it by finding competitions to enter and once working on one project I get back into the right frame of mind to continue writing.

Why don't you commit to the next DVXUser competition before you know what it is?

Thanks alot guys, you've been really helpful. I owe you guys tons, I already set up a few fun shorts I've been dreaming up for a few years. Thanks alot.
