A clue about what/when to expect concerning P2 prices/sizes

I was doing my monthly log in over at dvinfo and came across a post from Jan. I know there have been a lot of rumors about what is coming when, and how much it will cost, and this isn't hard data, but it is a good clue:

Jan said:
The 16GB card will be along very soon and 32GBs will be here by the end of the year. And as far as the pricing of them, I am sworn to secrecy until NAB.

So, we do know that it is true that 32 gigs are expected by the end of the year. Awesome. And, we know that we can expect some pricing announcements concerning 16 and 32 gig cards at NAB. Exciting, aye? Can't wait. Wish I could go to NAB.

Later,
Jason

You won't have to; TC is our resident on-the-spot reporter and he'll be pulling a Mikko, filing reports from the field.

Well, heck, Mikko will be there too so he'll probably pull a Mikko as well! :)

When i see the new price of 8 GB from a german dealer, i guess we can spend something like 1200 USD for a 16 GB after NAB, maybe a little more, but i think thats quite where it will be...if nothing changes, id like to get a 32 GB in one year for about 1000 Euro, which would be my price tag.....just dreaming..!

What I'd like to know is when or what date at NAB Panasonic will make the announcements as to price of 4, 8, 16 GB cards, and when they will be available in the case of the 16GB cards.

Anything on the 32GB p2 card then would be like Christmas in April.

No idea as of when, the only thing they've said is "May" for shipping on the 16GB's. I am taking that to mean that they're timing the 16GB cards with the HPX500 introduction.

Don't know if anyone saw this or if it has already been mentioned, but Spec-Comm has lowered their price on 8gb P2 cards down to $695. They are, however, currently on backorder.

Is that the NAB price-drop?

Looks like I sold mines for the right price. Oh yeah, and are they back-ordered everywhere?
