Still of the Day - April 3

Lucky Duck
Snoqualmie Falls this morning. Very foggy and it was difficult to keep my lens dry.

I use Cineform AspectHD with Premiere Pro. Cineform creates a robust avi and there is no perceptible generational loss, even with multiple effects.

is that your house? if so, i can't believe you live right next to such a beautiful waterfall.

Yes it is my house but that's not a waterfall. I left the faucet running all night. It took about 4 hours to clean up the mess.

Your daily stills are already a must. Keep posting.

But I have the impression your XLH1 gave a cleaner picture than the XHA1 or am I wrong?

You are wrong. I've actually found the opposite to be the case.

Thanks for the comments. It's nice to inspire.

disjecta, aside from the shorts you have been posting, are you working on any longer (narrative or non-narrative) pieces?

Most of what you are seeing is being shot for stock footage and just the pure love of it. I do not have any plans to work on anything else right now although something will happen in the future for sure, just not sure when.

LOL, classic! Zing!

Gordon, aside from a perceived less grainy picture of the A1 (and it could be the settings I'm using), there is no real discernable difference between the two cams. Because I tend to drag my gear all over the place, I'm really happy to have shed a few pounds and be toting a lighter cam. I also like the fact that I don't get as much attention with the A1. Almost everywhere I went with the XLH1, someone would say, "wow, that's a serious camera" and they would want to know all about what I was doing. Not so with the A1, it just looks like a bloated handicam :)

I am also digging the wider angle of the built in lens. I'm all about epic shots and having a wide angle like this gives me what I want.

Aside from that, I could easily intercut between the A1 and H1.
