Hey, just for fun I entered a little FF put on by a local radio station. Sent them a small QT of the little backyard short I did with my dog. Watch it here: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=86066
I'm listed at the bottom of their festival entries page: http://www.1019theend.com/filmfest.php
It screens tomorrow night. Hope my dog helped me win a grand!
Only problem is...they asked me to clean up the content a little if it wins because it will air on Comcast. And I deleted my raw footage some time ago, and even recorded over the tape I shot on. Gasp! Yes, I know, sounds stupid but I was just screwing around getting footage of my dog "chatting" with the neighborhood. Don't usually keep all my goofin' around footage because, well, I'd just burn through too many tapes. I've recorded many times on the same tape and had no dropout issues when capturing.
So I reshot the piece, with even more ridiculous stuff. Used the H1 and A1 simultaneously, but used the 16x manual lens (for ultrafast whip zooms) on the H1...and that led to an interesting finding: The 16x shoots a more contrasty, colorful image than the A1 or H1's stock lens. I shot both cameras with the same matched, relatively neutral settings (for CC flexibility later on) and found my H1/16x footage to be much more appealing straight off of tape.
It's weird, but it makes me glad to own an H1.
Still lovin' the A1 though!
