24f and FCP?

Hey everyone. I'm looking at getting a Canon XH-A1 for my small mockumentary style show, and for a few short films I am looking to make.

I currently use Final Cut Pro for editing, and I have read on some forums that the XH-A1's 24f has some problems when working with FCP.

Has anyone worked with the two who could let me know if this is true?

I figured if anyone knew, it would be everyone here.

5.1.2 adds a HDV 1080 24p easy preset for 24F editing. As far as the computer is concerned, 24f IS 24p. Pure 24p capture and editing.

It works great, especially if you have a G5 or faster.

Excellent. I'm running an Intel Core Duo MacBook Pro, so I should be good.

Wish I could afford a desktop, but I'm trying to get a camera :-) The laptop will do.

In FCP 5.1.2 is the easy preset for HDV 1080p24 for 24f or 24p? I would think that the 24P mode would be for a hv20 or sony v1 that do 24p and not 24f. I would love some clarification on this someone help please.

Nik--

It specifically supports the 24F Canon HDV mode, which is a true progressive 24 fps stream.

The HV20 or V1U 24p modes are standard 24p carried in a 1080 60i signal, much like normal 24p mode (not 24pA) on the dvx in 480i.
