Envision & RebeccaD Present "Berlin"

Ted, lol! I know you have been a big fan of that locale. It is gorgeous and we hope to use it to the best possible potential.

I have written some notes for Norm to do the changes we discussed, so we should have the final draft completed in the next day or so. I'm glad we nailed something down we can really feel good about.

Wait, what happened to using a cell phone to hack into the hubble telescoe in order to re-direct it's mirror so it would reflect the sun's rays down and fry "Evil Guy #1" like a bug under a magnifying glass?!?!?

HA HA HA

Seriously, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you guys finally decided on. I know it's hard when you get too much feedback and a lot of it seems to be conflicting. Ultimately, it is your story, and you have to tell it the way your heart tells you too.

If you are passionate about telling your story, that will come through and people will find it enjoyable...even if it wasn't the ending they voted for ;)

You know, the mustard gas scene where I die!!! LOL!

We've already started rehearsing the scene where Rebecca needs to have blood spew out her nose (from the convulsing of her internally bleeding lungs, of course). We're working our way up, starting with milk, then Cool-Aid, then onto the more thicker consistancy stuff like chocolate syrup.

Taking one for the team. She's quite the trooper. :)

By the time we're done with her, we should be able to get her a spot on Leno or Letterman (we'll even settle for Conan), doing the whole noodle trick through each nostril!

You're right in that we should tell the story our hearts tell us to, Larry. And what I've learned recently is that Rebecca must have a very, VERY dark heart to think up the sick stuff she wants to introduce now. The mental images she's introduced my mind to with her warped story telling ideas ... *shudders* Praying we can keep it to the R rating maximum.

oh, right - working on the funeral march for that one now :D

Yeah, thanks, Herman. That is a really pivotal scene.

Norm, stop giving away our freakin story! :( Also, to anyone interested, Norm is the dark and twisted one. I have had to really reel him in on this one. The places he wanted to go....nightmares, I tell you.

Once again, I just ask that you reveal yourself ...

Once again, I just ask that you reveal yourself ...

Okay, so this happened once before, and John Hudson was very forthcoming in saying OOPS! in that he had accidentally rated our thread a star rating of 1, as he was just experimenting & couldn't reverse it (totally no hard feelings John, and thanks for being the man that you are to step up like you did!).

Like then, I'm kindly asking now for the person who rated us a "1" to simply be mature enough & step forward to state why. Perhaps it was another accident. Otherwise, it's someone who thinks this thread is "terrible", yet is too immature, or too scared to reveal themselves, to state what has gone wrong to make this thread the lowest rating in their eyes that it could be.

Honestly, bring on the criticism. We're open to it. And if someone truly think's it's the most terrible/lowest rating that's allowed then that's fine ... I'd just love to know what you're thinking in specific. Maybe we can all learn from your questions or statements about it.

Otherwise, I think the thread opens up decently with a great looking poster by Jeremy, some fun wallpapers (also by Jeremy), and some BTS shots of our primary location. A lot of discussions have happened about the story & direction we'll be taking this, and then some off topic stuff that tends to get reeled back fairly quickly. We will continue to update the thread with progress that we hope will not only be insightful, but also inspiring to the other filmmakers on here.

So come on, '1-Star-Rater' ... Don't give in to the temptation of hiding behind that internet curtain! Be proud, and sing it loud!! :)

Ah, you've got me wrong. I think Rebecca and I cared too much about what people thought, and then got totally torn when we had such a perfect split down the center of two different camps wanting to totally different endings ... so to compromise, yet still deliver something we think people will really like, we changed gears totally for the ending.

And I personally don't care if folks rate the thread a 1-5 rating, but it stands out pretty obvious when you've only got a few, that someone specifically did a hit-n-run with a 1 rating. At that point, then I'd like he or she to simply state what they think is so horrible about the thread.

Kind of like back in the day when DVXuser allowed guests to post ... you could have people absolutely trash a thread under complete cover (no username, etc. as they weren't signed in)... thankfully they got rid of that pretty quickly. If someone has something to say, or feels strongly about something, they shouldn't hide. Just IMO.

Hey Norm, I tried to do my part and rated the thread a 5. I always enjoy your threads and find them very informative!

Norm:

I wanted to come clean and say, hey, I rated your thread zero stars. I understand what you are trying to do, but I just don't get why you're going to waste your time shooting a music video for some old 80's band. I have to admit, Terri Nunn was smokin' hot once. But what the heck do they have to do with spying and stuff?

I don't understand why these threads are even rated. To me, the content speaks for itself.

BUT! I will say that I do understand your concern, Norm. Obviously if someone took the time to rate your thread a "1 star" then they must have a reason... and I think that I would want to know as well. Your thread is certainly one of the most informational threads going right now and I feel that the content is worth reading. (Except for that comment about blodd spewing from Rebecca's nose... I could have lived without that! :) )

I hope that whoever took the time to rate your thread as a meager attempt DOES step forward and explain. It is the only right thing to do. Because if you feel strongly enough to rate it, you should feel strong enough to stand by it.

Or someone is just a jealous dork and acts like a child and rates a thread a 1 or 0 because they are frustrated that their film or thread isn't getting much attention.

I think people might think such-and-such thread is just a big chat and has no hard information, and down rate the thread, but I don't think there are people out there weighing the pros and cons of a thread and then feeling strongly about something and down rating it.

I also think most people, myself included, don't have much of a specific or weighed opinion when they 5 star a thread. It's usually more like "so-and-so is a cool guy and I want to support them" vs. "let's see, there's lots of good hard information here about filmmaking, or inspiring personal stories about filmmaking, etc."

Norm, you seriously have too much time on your hands if you even care. Besides, how do you know someone rated it one star? Is there some thing in there that tells you?
