Free 8GB P2 card rebate expiring

Panasonic USA's been giving away a free 8GB P2 card with purchases of a new HVX200, and that rebate's set to expire on March 31st. If you were thinking of getting an HVX, now might be a good time, as I seriously doubt that the card rebate program is going to continue. So if you're on the fence, and a free $1200 8GB card would sway you, you might want to take the leap before the end of the month...

Barry:

You can't "give away" a "free" card.

:)

Interestingly, the Final Cut Studio upgrade expired two days ago as well.

Now it's full bore for any upgrades to Universal Binaries.

Step 1: Buy a camera intended for sale in the US market from an authorized Panasonic dealer.
Step 2: Go here and fill out the form.

Yep ... will be ordering before the 31st. Got burned on my first HVX200 cause I purchased through Buy-Dig (non US authorized). This time, I'll buy through B&H and get the free card.

Just to let you guys know, we are trying to put together an End-of-Rebate special for the DVXUsers, to help those who have been on the fence. Should have something for you tomorrow :)

Just wanted to put in my two cents-- I ordered my HVX around the beginning of this month from Jasmine and got great service from you guys. Thanks!

Forgive my ignorance, but why is there such a huge difference in price for the HVX200 between non-authorized and authorized Panasonic dealers? There is nearly a $3,000 difference between the B+H price and some others I have found online (also brand new).
If there is a good reason, I would like to know.

Thanks

'Step 1: Buy a camera intended for sale in the US market from an authorized Panasonic dealer.

Step 3: Make sure you send them a copy of you invoice...

I guess that's really part of 'Step 2'. Just looking out.

We are working on that today. The margins are already pretty slim, so we are trying to be creative. :)

Maybe you guys would like to tell us what will make you jump off the fence?

A free Cineporter?? :) Just kidding.

Really, what more do people need. A fantastic camera and a free 8gig card that retails for around 1200 ought to be incentive enough. That's frappin' $7200 worth of HD goodness for 5k-5.5k.

Then, if you're buying from Spec, you have 2 extra batteries, and a 2% discount if paying by certified check. Pretty sweet deal already.

SCPCI-P2 is a pretty nice product though.

That's a $3,000 difference between a real camera and an imaginary one.

THe Crooklyn bait-and-switch stores will never actually sell you a camera at the advertised price. Once you place the order you'll be asked to call them to confirm the purchase, at which point the high-pressure sales pitch for accessories starts. You'll be told that what you ordered was an "OEM" model that doesn't come with a battery or any other accessories -- I know of one instance where someone was told it didn't even come with a lens!

If you don't agree to buy these items separately and at an overinflated price, the item is suddenly out of stock.

Do a little bit of research. There's a sticky devoted to this subject in this forum.

Jason,

You forgot FREE ground shipping. :)

The SCPCI-P2 is a great idea!

So here's the deal.

You have a choice:

Option 1

1 - AG-HVX200P (Including rebate)
1 - SCPCI-P2 Card (Windows only)
2 - Long Life Batteries
Free ground shipping (to the 48 continental states)
Additional 2% off if paid by cashiers or bank check
$5299

Option 2

1 - AG-HVX200P
3 - Long Life Batteries
Free ground shipping (to the 48 continental states)
Additional 2% off if paid by cashiers or bank check
$5299

Thanks Jason!

This special is only good until the end of this month.

We also have some special packages available only to you DVXUsers. I will post them in a few minutes.

Best regards and happy shopping!:) BTW, Jasmine and Joe are taking orders so you can ask for them.

The "good reason" is a very good one indeed. B&H will actually sell it to you at the price they quoted. Those other guys won't. They are, in fact lying to you. You can put no more stake in their claim of a $2,000 HVX than you can in an e-mail that promises you can grow your penis 3" longer by taking some herb or something; the claims are equally legit.

Well, that just sucks! You mean I won't get a camera for cheap either?
