Is The 16 GB Firmware Available for the 16 GB cards

Latest firmware update for HVX200 was October.

Has anybody become aware of a newer firmware update?

Or could someone give us a number that indicates the latest firmware update for the HVX?

My understanding based upon the press release provided to me by Panasonic was that the firware update for 16gb cards would be available in May.

This is what Jan wrote:

"The 16GB upgrade is not even available yet, but there is a firmware upgrade. You can find it by going to the HVX product page and going to the resources and you will find the link there.

A little confusing about what is available to do what.

You did not read post by me that said this 16GB gcard upgrade is available. There is a upgrade that is available and it is not necessarily a required upgrade. The factory has not even told me what that one does, but the ting I do know is that it does not upgrade for the 16GB cards. When that happens you will see me make that announcement here.

Best,

Jan

The way I read the quote from Jan, there is nothing that indicates another firmware upgrade is required to enabled 16GB cards to be used beyond the version that was released at the end of October 2006.

Since 16GB cards have been in the works for awhile, I'm sure that the V2.03 firmware for the camera probably already includes support for 16GB and possibly larger cards.

Hi,

There is a firmware update required for the 16GB cards. It will be available when the cards are. I don't know how to be more clear. There is a needed upgrade. It is not available.

Thanks,

Jan

Thanks Jan.

As I said, the post elsewhere by you indicated ""The 16GB upgrade is not even available yet, but there is a firmware upgrade."

I didn't know what that meant. I thought it meant the firmware to use the cards is available, but the cards aren't.

Now you have clarified it.

Thank you.
