Junipero: The Last Son of Celestie

Marlon,

Have you ever tried using the stock lens' wide angle and CC'ing to match. Maybe it's next to impossible to get them to match, but it seems like your wides could look really nice and punchy with the A1's standard lens. I love what you're doing, yet I wonder if the wides couldn't be a little sharper and snappier. I think what you've got is perfectly accpetable, but the edges are a little soft and the vignetting is somewhat noticeable.

Awesome stuff bro!

Are you talking about the establishing shot or the moon shot in particular?

Three new screens, I love this camera:

The establishing shot. It just felt a bit too dim and murky and a little soft on the edges. I understand that the scene included a lunar eclipse and you were going for a moody look of sorts, but it felt strange in that wide shot.

Still damn cool though. Can't wait to see the finished film.

Those rays are very fantasy-like. Nice.

And the saturation is so nice in the "graded" stills. In fact, I like the before and after.

Wow, I just discovered this thread and... wow, that's all I can say. There are some great looking images and all very up my alley. I love your use of "blown out" lighting and your sky replacements have been exceptional. The horizon line on your promo art is very impressive (I know how hard it is to get that horizon to retain some detail while trying to blend into a new sky shot).

I really like the light beams coming through the window. I also really liked the blast of light from the red box he finds... how'd you do that?

I tried to play Chapter 2, but it gave me an error box and wouldn't play. Anyway, can't wait to see more.

Be sure to have Quicktime 7 installed!

I just watched Chapter 2. Wow... that was shot with an XL2? Some of the best footage coming from an XL2 I've ever seen.

Looking forward to seeing how the A1 footage comes out.

Yes, I use reflectors when needed. Guy at the window shot was a 24mm wide angle. Yes, I can achieve infinite focus.
