For those who missed it...

Do you find it interesting that no price is associated with the 16 GB p2 cards?

Just all the other products introduced recently have a price.

I thought I heard 64 by the end of year not 32, and I am not sure why a price wasn't included in this article.

I thought this would be creating more buzz, did this topic already get discussed?

Any thoughts on thet field monitor?

16 and 32GB cards have been extensively discussed.

My bet is that this will generate more discussion when:

1. They are shipping;
2. They are shipping in quantity; and
3. There is a price for each.

Fair enough, but what about the field monitor? Quoted to be under 3 grand...could be interesting.

Very interesting, I think. The Marshall's pretty good, and affordable, but the Panasonic 9" is the bomb. But it's extremely expensive; around $5,000 list!

An 8" with pixel-for-pixel display and waveform and all the other goodies would be fantastic. I just hope it's "well" under 3 grand. Might be $2999, but if it's significantly below $3000 (like $2195 or something) that would be fantastic.

Not always. Panasonic announced the HVX as being "under $10,000" and it was $5995. JVC announced the HD100 as being "under $10,000" and it turned out to be $6295. Panasonic announced the HPX500 with an initial announcement of "under 200,000 Yen" which translated to about $17,100, but when they announced actual pricing it was $14,000.

So I think there's certainly room for it to be substantially below $3,000. Of course, it might be $2999.99, but there's precedent for it to be quite a bit less.

But, IIRC, the original announcement was something along the lines of, $6000 for the camera alone, $10,000 for the camera and two P2 cards (can't remember the size of the cards--either 2GB or 4GB).
