Amazing film shot by Macgregor w/ DVX+Cinemek

RED camera? I think this was shot on 35mm. So she replaced an old robot that got it's legs smashed(?) with a new robot, but was dipressed because it wasn't the old robot?

They're not fizzled; Jonathan has even posted recently. They're retooling. I think it may have something to do with Dan Diaconu and their MPIC adapter, something about ground glass movement patterns and patents and licensing. Anyway, he says they'll be back and they'll introduce their product. I don't think anyone's holding their breath as for when that might happen, but hopefully someday an announcement will pop up out of the blue.

sweet motives! what adapter is this!??? where can i get it. i need it now! dvx right?

OMG. I don't care what camera or adapter was used on this: it is superlative in every tiny detail.

beautiful film, in every aspect of the art...

one question (obviously had to ask)... how did you produce such gorgeously smooth slo-mo with the DVX?

thanks.

I remember the Cinemek projects a few years ago... Too bad they didn't make it available at that time, the pictures are beautiful. Anyway, that's life ! I just regret they suddenly disappear without any notice.

Cinemek G35 have a static or motor driven/vibrating GG? I am thinking it is likely static, yet no visible grain.
As I understand Jonathan "licenced" Dan´s vibrating GG mechanism to make the G35 (even more) suitable for HD work...

I noticed on the 18 Seconds dramafest entry, one or two shots had a dust spot which imo appeared to be on the GG, indicative it was static. I foreshadow, future product would include the vibrating GG. Thanks for the feedback Spartacus.

If Cinemek pulls this one off in the right way, they could get a real big chunk of the cake...
No other adapter creates so many sweaty hands when talked about...
I never understood the so called Panasonic "mojo" - but the G35 has mojo and mystery, damn sexy, damn sexy...
But hey, there are already a bunch of good adapters out there, so anyways we´ll be fine...

no one has any clues on...

a) how the slo-mo was achieved with dvx?
and
b) when cinemek is reproducing/selling again?

I think that cinemek has MacGregor to thank for nearly all the hype surrounding their maybe-released product. For some reason his exact combination of elements (his lens+the static prototype he owns) produces the same kind of bokeh that expensive 35mm lenses like Ziess or Cookes do. This adds immeasurable value to his productions. As well he is a fantastic DOP, that don't hurt either.

Yup, MacGregor.
His latest H1 and G35 piece I saw was this http://www.macgregor.autoecstasy.com/smile/smile.h264.mov

When there`s a story there`s no grain or lens breathing ;)...
... sex sells.

Too bad P+S Technik GmbH has all European patents on GG movements so any serious marketing hype will lead to patent issues, hopefully RED will destroy the economic benefits of the patent holder.

Cheers,
T

I really liked Magda Ritz's accent. The overall mood from 4:22 minutes in till the end made Similo for me. I missed this the first time around. No need to say that Macgregor is in a class all by himself. 18 seconds rocks just like this. Moving Art such as this really inpires me. Such a strange atmosphere. The architecture of that space-age bedroom with the curved corners is fascinating.

Ummm... has anyone made sure it's alright [from Macgregor] to post this??

Last time I saw it, he'd taken it off the web for personal/distribution reasons. I'd recommend NOT posting other people's work without their permission.

If you already talked to him and he said it was OK, ignore me. If not, I'd remove it.
