Uh oh... Is this a huge problem?

Okay, so today me and some of my friends filmed a short, and it was the first time I've used my P2 card enough to have to transfer the files to computer.

I borrowed a laptop to use, and I set it up with the drivers and I was connecting the HVX via USB, and the computer was mounting it as a drive. I assumed that I could transfer the files from the camera to the computer by just dragging them to the computer, so that's what I did. It took about 10 minutes to transfer, and I did it three times during the shoot.

When I got home, I wanted to check out the footage, naturally, so I put the files on my computer and started up FCP, and then I realized that I couldn't open the MXF files at all.

What I'm wondering is if I totally screwed the entire days worth of footage by not doing it right. Is there any way to get my footage? All the file sizes are correct, so I don't know why I wouldn't be able to view the files.

Please tell me there's a way to fix this! If not, I guess it's a lesson learned, but man... :crybaby:

Okay, after doing some looking around I figured out that I can make a lastclip.txt with the right info in it, and I can get the files back that way! So, nevermind, I guess. Fixed it on my own. Phew!

You need both the CONTENTS folder and the LASTCLIP.TXT file. Although, off record, I've been importing fine with no LASTCLIP.TXT file using FCP 5.1.2.

All this is new to me, and I am glad to be here. I helped shoot a short last year and now am learning the HVX from FCP
Thanks
