Shot a short with the A1 this weekend

Cool stuff. The scenes look clean and crisp. Did you ever get a handle on the LCD issues you were having before your shoot? Did you use a preset for this shot? I'd be curious re: what settings you used. I look FW to seeing the complete piece.

Thanks guys..

LOL, yeah! The reflector was impossible to hold still as the wind was torture. I'm really upset with how it came out on the actor but there's nothing that I can do about it now. BUT, that's the beauty of editing, I might be able to work around it.

Nice footage... I like the look of the moving light... It makes it feel like the trees are blowin and the light moves... ya know?

Thanks guys... I'm going to try to have the film edited and scored within a three week time frame so keep an eye out.

Nice work, Jay.
Was that just the A1 or did you use an adaptor?
How did you find working with the camera? Did you have a monitor to set up your shots?

It was 100% A1 only, no adapter at all. I found it pretty easy to achieve DOF in some shots but not all. working with this camera was great, much different then the A1 but overall, great! I used a 9 inch field monitor to help with focusing. I simply don't see it possible to use the A1'a LCD to get a perfect focus.

Nice work Jay,
I wish I could have been there. I really like the reflector on the talent's face. I know you wasn't very happy with it, as the wind was blowing, but It still looks good. If you get a chance could you post the settings you used?

Thanks Joe! We'll figure out the scheduling a little better for the next one, lol.

The setting were:

GAM N
KNE L
BLK S
PED 0
SET 0
SHP -3
HDF DHV/COR/NR1/NR2 0
CMX 2
CGN 30

All the rest were set at zero

Also, the footage in that link above is CC'd. I crushed the blacks a bit and boosted the saturation a little.
