I made a 720 24p film.

Made a H.264 compression in compressor. Put it in dvdstudio pro and burm it do dvd-r.
Does this play in HD dvd players or just only in Mac?

Thanks

None of the current HD DVD set tops will play h.264 encoded DVDs.

Initially the Toshiba HD DVD set top played mpeg2HD/aiff encoded without menus, just tracks.

I've been doodling with H.264 content on my just-bought Toshiba HD-A2, and it plays back wrong - super slow for unknown reasons. I'm using latest DVD Studio Pro and Compressor, using preset settings. Also, Compressor only allows 720p content, not 1080i or even 1080p - very irritating. I need to go back in and double check my settings, but this is dissapointing. On the other hand, MPEG-2, fat as the data rate is, DOES play back and looks very good.

Yeah, I don't figure we'll have fully useable multi-codec capable HD-DVD's until they actually release an HD-DVD burner with the appropriate software, which should be out pretty soon if not already.

Not to be contentious, but Apple released DVD SP 4.x with support for red laser dye recording BEFORE there were any set tops to play it on.

I feel all of this will filter out with NAB in a couple of months.
