New Film: Kill Will

i duno man, didnt grab my attention, the cinematography was not all that great. even tho its a copy of kill bill.. hmmm

sound was shitty too. Wish i could find something positive to say...

Kill Will

Kill Will

I have no words as to the horrible sound. It made me laugh a bit but that's the only positive. Quentin would be pissed off if he saw this. It killed everything I liked about Kill Bill. And the dialogue made me want to cry. It killed the flow and rhythm of Quentin's. You should try orginal stuff...it might turn out better because your not competing with Q.T. Sorry it's just not that good...sorry.

it was a rip off but it made me laugh. some of the scenes were definitely shot by shot copy which added to the comedy of the whole thing i thought. looks like u guys were having fun and i'm sure in no way trying to portray this as a serious i am original film maker etc etc. so all in good fun.

why do u ask opinions if your know what people are gonna say, lol.
i dont mean to be harsh but his wasnt funny. (except one part when she tried to do the 5 fingers of death)

did she grab moneys nipple. thats not right!

Ok, yeah, this is the only fim I've ever mocked. So please don't take me as a MOCK director. And I KNOW what you guy are gonna say, I just wanna see HOW you guys were gonna say it. I know about the sound, I know about the poor color correction of the snow scene, and I know that you guys take things way too seriously. I DON'T think that QT would be mad if he saw this, I honestly think he'd be flattered that we took as much initiative as we did, And I know that for you guys to speak as negatively as you do on other works, you (and ALL of you) have never created anything close to a Speilberg flick yourselves. I can differentiate insults from creative criticism. Keep 'em coming though!

Although I noticed the there was problems with the sound quality and overall it wasn't the greatest thing I have ever seen, I give you props for just taking the time to put this together....

What's cool about just putting stuff together with friends is that they will enjoy it and not only do you have fun doing it but you gain experience just by messing around as well....So aslong as that was the purpose of this video than kudos...

Oh, also, I don't think anyone has ever claimed to make a video to try and upstage speilberg....I'd try avoid making harsh rationalizations like that because there are a lot of talented people on here that have taken the time to watch it and tell you what they really think, so even if you find it to be insulting what they say it's still creative criticism nontheless....Cheers.:)

I can tell after browsing around your website for a few minutes that you have heart. I checked out some of your other videos. Making movies should be fun but you need respect as a director and for your talent to take you serious and for them to take "the business" serious too. Casting all your pals is cool but it can make it really hard to get things done on a professional level. Cast your talent off of craigslist. I'm not saying "don't cast your friends", but mix it up. Find people with resumes and that have actually completed movies from begining to end, at least five of them. People with a past of being in movies want your film to get out there and for it and them to be seen because it greatens the chances that someone else might say "thats the person we've been looking for". Check out the book "I'll be in my trailer" by John Badham. My advice would be to keep doing what you're doing but start writing your feature film. Create a protagonist that people are going to care what happens too and that we'll want to watch reach their ultimate goal. Take your audience out of the world their in now and bring them into yours... Detroit. It's time to get real. Time to show Spike Lee that Tommie Green is his worst nightmare. Good luck.

I could only watch it for about 90 seconds before I got bored and quit. A lot of the shots were composed poorly, and the soundeffects taken from what i think was soundtrack did not fit very well. Also it takes way too long for her to reach the first apartment. And I just don't see the point in making a movie that's already been made, at 1% of the quality.

lol, now that’s just mean.
I've seen some of your other clips and I definitely like some of them.
But hay, if you post, guess what! People are gonna give there options. Why be bitter?

Spielberg is the only person that can criticize your work? The same people who watch Spielberg movies are watching yours. Even Spielberg gets negative crit sometime and not every one of his movies are good. As long as he learns from them:) just like us.

If you know what people will say why not ask a question? EX: if u don’t pay attention to the sound, CC, etc how do u think this scene plays. Or what do u think of the angles here, or whatever. I think it will be an easier way for you to get the criticism u want.

Easy way to not hear negative crit it not to post. But why not post I think it helps to become a better filmmaker. It's definitely look like u enjoy making your films. And I think u would agree your getting better!:)

I dont understand why people say not to "waste time" on stuff like fan films, mocking films etc. Nothing is a waste...its all experience.

THANX. That's the kind of stuff I like to hear. People think that I make these films to be the best user on DVX or the try and get a DreamWorks deal. I mean, I'll get there one day, but advice like that is great. And your Spike Lee comment kind of insulted me. lol, I hate Spike Lee and hate people comparing me to him because I'm black. But what can I do.

Thing is, I shot with the audio channels halfway down. By mistake. And even IF they were up, the audio is done. There's no more to it. When I got it to the comp to capture it, THAT'S how it sounded. What was I to do, NOT continue working on it cause It was messed up? And I shot the outside scene in the day, and I tried to CC it to night for the first time ever to the best of my abilities. For my first time, I THINK I did kind of good. I didn't have any reference guides for these things, so I KNOW what's wrong with MY film. I just want to hear suggestions for talented users as to what I could have/should have done. But these insults such as you couldn't makle it past the first 90 seconds, I DOUBT that. It IS somewhat interesting for what it is, and I'm not speaking like that 'cause I directed it.

People compare me to Troy Duffy (Boondock Saints) and Ed Burns (Brothers McMullen) because I'm Irish. But now you've gone and insulted ME pulling out a race card. I refused to use the "N" word in my gangster flick, not even once, even though the city I'm filming was known for stabbing black people (before racial intergration) in broad daylight if they stepped in the neighorhood. Using that word in a movie has no class and I don't feel like I need to use it to be authentic. Brothers love gangster movies. Why would I want them to come see my movie and then have the characters in my movie say things that upset or make them uncomfortable (yeah, THEM meaning black people). You on the other hand made a mock film after a guy that says "Nigga this" and "Nigga that" in everyone of his films. If you're gonna "HATE PEOPLE" (in your own words) that say anything why not him? You say THANX to me and then spit in my face and call me a racist?

did you watch it before you put it on the internet? The first shot, you can hear someone say action. Like C'mon dude, huge mistakes like that really kill your chances for people to watch the rest. I heard that and stopped watching.

PS> this thread is gunna get closed sooo fast if it turns into a race argument
