hehe,
quite a businessman you are!
I still have a Pentium D2,6@3,6 waiting around - it´s just that I don´t want to shell out the cash for Adobe Studio...
Edius - don´t like the GUI
Avid - never ever
Well and FCP finally handles P2 PAL formats...
But thanks!

Yep,
but you aren´allowed to use it commercially, or?

Well thats where the line is thin, but my response to that is who cares? How is adobe going to know if i am using thier software to make money... Students make money all the time doing side projects, i assume they would know this. This is where we as people have to fight for our rights and just say F you to the man. (In my opinion)

As a student I´m with you...
As a partner in a small production company, I have to say it just doesn´t cut it to risk being sued for working with cracks...
but hey, maybe I should get the student edition as long as I´m still enrolled...

oh i didnt mean use illegal software.... I just meant bend the rules with the PAID student edition.

What am I looking at size wise for a nice H264 ready clip...lets say time/meg. Compared to downloading something from iTunes?

6mins at 720P h264 mid compression is 188Mb. So 188/6=31.3mb/min roughly.

sure, my fault, I should have been more precise...
that said I´m still looking for a Mac frameserver option ;o)

lol thanks man, i dont remember where or what i said that about tho. lol And i sure as hell dont want to watch it. ALSO i might add a correction to this tutorial, for aspect ratio between programs always choose SQUARE PIXELS! :) Keeps things togeather and appears to work better.

You should make a tutorial on how to encode wmv-9 files instead of quicktime.

I mean, you can not even go full screen with the free version... also, on my new Vista editing computer quicktime is not doing so well... it keeps giving me buffer over-run errors.

Please, please, please, make a WMV tutorial!!!

First off, WMV format disgusts me. Ive never encoded with it and most likely never will. DRM is bs. However, i can do something better than make a tutorial for a (in my opinion) lame codec. Get yourself VLC videolan player. The worlds best media player. PLays all formats without needing any codec installed, plus its open source and free and works on ANY OS! Check it out: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Awesome tutorial....but when I export with h264 all my video color comes out looking desaturated a bit. Why is that? I`ve seen lovely videos done with the codec but my videos always look bland compared to the in NLE video...what gives?
