Will have the V1 for three days from Saturday so I will do some side by sides.
 
Looking forward to that. Will be interesting to see if you get some of the oil paint effect in progressive mode.

I think it was the avatar. It's funny how we associate people with their avatar (btw, my avatar is actually a picture of me. SCARY).

You have no idea how many DVX-users have asked me the same question. Hoenstly I think when most people find out I'm not the woman in my avatar they are quite dissapointed. I had one guy asking me all kinds of questions about stuff in an email, then he said "wait, are you a guy?". After that I never heard from him again :).
By the way, I've been shooting with the XH-A1 and V1-U side by side for a while, I didn't know everyone was looking for a comparison. On our next shoot I'll try and set up some stuff as well to shoot with both cameras.

OH MY GOD, YOU HAVE A PE-NIS! IM NEVER TALKING TO YOU AGAIN, YOUR NOT WORTH MY TIME!!!! Nah just kidding. Yeah dude cant wait to see a comparison. What do you like better?
 
Honestly, not a big fan of the V1-U. It produces a pretty decent image, however it has horrible user controls. Litterall everything is burried in menus and to adjust the shutter speed and aperature you actually have to toggle between the two of them. I can't tell you how long it took me to figure out how to get the dang thing off of AE.
Besides it's little quirks and it's 1/4" ccd's it's a decent camera, but for the money the A1 is the clear winner.

Scharkey, can you tell me settings for a good baseline image on the v1? Sharpness etc
