When/if do you think the HVX price will come down?

What do you think the price of the HVX will be in one year? Two years? I doubt it'll still be at 6K this time next year. Although dropping the price of the P2 cards would be much more welcomed rather than a small cut in the camera's cost.
 
It's already going for $5300 at most authorized dealers, and some are as low as $5000. And they're giving away a free 8GB card until the end of March if you buy from an authorized US dealer.
 
They just dropped the price of the camera AND are giving away expensive 8gig P2 cards. Do you want it for free?
 
We paid $5995 for it.

A year later it is selling for $5200 with a rebated (so I hear) 8GB card.

that is a drop of $1900.00
 
And in one day I make $1,800.00, so waiting a year would have been stupid.
I wish you hold-outs luck. :)

But factor in a deck, the price of tape, and how much a cam that shoots DVCProHD to tape would cost.
 
One more thing people never factor in, the most common problems with cameras tend to be tape transport or head clogging/wear issues.
This camera should give you years of return on your investment with little or no servicing and keep a decent resale value since head hours are eliminated except on mini-DV. Even if that goes dead, you can still shoot SD on cards.
