No, the MAC has raped you prison style once again. This is a well-known and well-documented problem. Apple's support is glitchy. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that every one of your problems that you repeatedly post about is because you're using the Mac.JimmyTheSaint said:or has my HVX raped me prison style once again?
Maybe. But I think you're blaming the wrong fruit. It's because you have an Apple that these things are happening to you.JimmyTheSaint said:Is it possible I've got a lemon?
The best one to start with is to PM Jan Crittenden. However, it isn't her fault, it's Apple's fault. Only Apple can fix the things that are happening to you.Anybody know of a good contact at Panasonic that might be able to help me resolve some of these issues?
Brilliant -- we should definitely do that. It could very well be something like that!ozduc said:Maybe we should do a poll like:
How many people that have had this problem having any software with the name "NORTON" installed on their mac.

And therein lies the problem, and why Apple doesn't bother fixing it. If you'd rather embrace a flawed system and blame anyone who points out its flaws, rather than use a working system -- what incentive is there for Apple to change? Simple fact is that there's a bug. This is not a "PC is better than Apple" issue. This is a "there's a bug in OSX and it needs to be fixed" issue. And it won't be fixed until users like you start screaming bloody murder in Apple's ears, demanding that they fix it.JimmyTheSaint said:I'd rather give up cinematography for life than use a PC - and I'm serious about that.
Because Apple's P2 driver doesn't always work. Seems to work about 99% of the time, but there's always that 1%. Kevin Railsback can demonstrate the same thing -- he puts the card in his PowerBook, plays the footage, and can see glitches happening. Put the card back in the camera and play the footage, and guess what? It's flawless. There's something wrong with the way the Mac interfaces with the cards. The data on the cards is fine. The process of transferring that data to a Mac can glitch.I don't understand how it's Mac's fault when I take a P2 card from a camera, put it in a PCMCIA slot and it's blank and/or scrambled when it gets there.
Put the card back in the camera and play the footage, and guess what? ALL the pages will be there. The Mac doesn't know how to read.but transferring 1's and 0's from one drive to another isn't an OS conflict - it's a hardware problem. My Mac isn't writing anything to the card - it's READING FROM IT. If somebody hands me a book with pages missing is there a problem with my ability to read?
I'm telling you how to make it work. You just don't like the answer -- if you want a flawless experience, use a PC; that system works. Apple has a bug and they need to fix it.P.P.S I'm not blaming Jan - I just want somebody who knows the system to help me make it work.

I agree. I love my Macs but that is taking it way too far. Definitely the wrong attitude.khmuse said:Sounds like the comments of a Mac addict and not a filmmaker...
