My DramaFest Entry - ERICA

Thanks guys for you comments.!!!

Horry Crap! 21 hrs I did mine in 21 days and i felt rushed -->..and you got a megaphone man i want a megaphone...

Nice job. busy crew. Hope you had a lot of Red Bull!! ready to check it out I am

Red bull? What is that?

Nah! just kidding! I was too wired up with the pressure of getting things done. I did not shoot all the shots I needed for the movie. My DP was too exausted without a much of a brake if any and couldn't take it any more. She did a fenomenal job though.

No worries thought! I would like to think I am a good editor so I had to use my creativity to work with what I had. I am happy with the results.

I thought some of you might like it.
I have a theme poem for my movie written my Edward Marcelle "Untitled 16"

They say there is no thing
That time and space
Won’t resolve or absorb
And leave no stain or memory

That thing loved
Or hated, flinched at or stumbled over-
The thing that we have feared to lose or love
becomes inaudible in white noise,
unremarkable forever.

And all the people, pets and bones
Will slip with silence into soil
Like moist autumn leaves
Accepted effortlessly by the earth.

They say there is a time
When everything will be okay
When no pain or tears
or doubt or rage
or sorrow can remain.

It’s hard for to think about it
Without patterns or perspective
It seems that only faith or drugs
Could make that season so.

And now the night thickly drips
And I wait for it to fade away
Into the dull hypnotic trance
Of just another day.

For night in insurrection
Gives voice to my desires
And memory to all these things
Lost but not destroyed.

And that makes me think of you
But they say that time and space
Will take this all away
Without stain.

Good looking actors, busy looking crew, megaphone, and a beautiful location. You gotta tell me how you got it. I thought NYC was a beast when it came to locking down locales. What's the secret?

Dude! I must give credit of special thanks to GOD. seriously, the park location I did not get it until the day before the shoot... I shot on Sunday and on Saturday I went to the park and there only were volunteers... no one was authorized to make decisions... they made a few phone-calls to the managers private lines (after begging almost kneeling) no body answered.

The volunteer then said, "well I think is Ok, we usually have Law and Order here shooting so I think you will be alright as long as you are not in the way of people"... I took the name of the person on writing and she wrote it on a staff directory sheet... I circled the name of the manager she called.

Next day, I showed up we started to shoot in a "no trespassing area" next thing you knew and there was a patrol officer who was eager to kick us out.

I talked to the guy... showed him the paper... he called the city park office to check on the info I gave him... of-course no one knew about anything but the volunteer... after talking to the officer and offering movie credits for safety and a copy of the finished project he let us finish the shoot. He was really cool with us after the tention slowed down.

As for shooting in the streets Matt my assistant director got a Still photography permit from the Major's Office two days before the shoot.

The other locations I just spoke to the owners.

ha ha, Roman, we go the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges in ours! We should have "BridgeFest!"

LOL! that would be fun.... I am up for it. your bridge is really cool. Doesn't it have a record in the world? I think is the longest suspension bridge or something like that.

Wow. Cool story about the shoot. So glad that worked for you. I like that you even got some bts of the officer! awesome.

lol!
Evan, I really needed it! the park scene was a wide shot and there were extras and crew scattered... that was a very early morning shoot so I did not want to loose my voice.

I admit, if I knew my Assistant Director Matt Murphy was going to be so good I would have not considered renting the megaphone. He took great care of me and the production...

That monitor is sweet! the picture was amazing. I was blown away with each shot presented from the HVX; the picture were unbelievably beautiful.

Next time I use the HVX for something similar I definitely use this monitor again specially if it involves clients.
