Haven't got my P2 Card yet !

I put in my order plenty of time ago (got my HVX mid December) and have heard ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BACK. I didn't even get the invoice some people spoke of. I called that number a few times too (The one on the rebate site). No callbacks, no e-mails, nothing! I'm pretty pissed about not getting my $1,000 worth of rebate!

Sheeppy,
If you read the thread "anyonee get their free P2 Card yet" (or something really similar) which has been hovering in the front page forever, you would have noticed that Panny seems to have on average an 11 week turnaround period. Most people who put in for their rebates in november did not get their cards until a week or 2 ago.

Sorry to hear that Panny hasnt gotten back to you, it seems like they are having a tough time with this free rebate thing. I purchased my HVX back in august and did not recieve Barry's book until mid October, so if its any consolation its not quite the same, but these things take time.

I've never recieved an invoice? Not sure what you even mean ... did they say you would get an invoice? I know that I had to send MY original invoice into the rebate dept but I have never recieved any email, invoice, or anything for that matter. I also bought my HVX mid / late December. When I go onto the rebate website, all I can see is that its in a processing state. Hopefully, it will be here soon.

Do I have to print something off and send it to them? I thought I just had to fill that form out. I don't remember it saying anything about sending an invoice?

Around mid December they changed the process. In order to get the rebate you had to send an invoice. People who submitted before that time frame were sent emails requesting them to send in their original invoice. The rebate time frame kicks off after your invoice is recieved.

Alot of people here reported that they did not get a request for the invoice and many have said they have received the rebate without ever sending in anything so I guess its anyone's guess. Best bet is to keep trying to get intouch with the rebate group to find out more on your status.

I was told I had to send my original purchase invoice of the HVX. I only sent a copy as I wanted to keep my original. I've yet to hear anything back.

What phone number do you guys have for the reabate group?

Two weeks ago I sent an e-mail asking if I needed to send my invoice since I never received a letter. I received a nice e-mail response next day saying my rebate was good to go, but they were back-ordered and would be shipping next week (which would be last week now).

saw another post somewhere, maybe not this forum, that they are still back-ordered as of this week.

very ansty waiting, but it is a freebie.

Screwed too

HI All.
I bought the hvx last Sept. Only a nice book offered as a freebie (which I haven't gotten yet), Not a few months later they are offering a $1,000 p2 card...
So I called - what the heck its worth a shot right?

Nada. "Sorry sir you bought it too soon."

Nice....

I spent the same freakin amount of money.

It sucks but thats the way it is, I don't blame panny for it.

Let's see -- by that logic I should call Panasonic and try to get a refund of the price difference between what I paid when I bought my HVX and when you bought yours.

I spent an even greater freakin amount of money.

PS: And while I'm at it, I'm going to complain to General Mills and my local supermarket for not giving me a second free box of Cocoa Puffs. I bought them last week for the same price other people are paying now, and they are getting a second box free. But when I asked for one, they called the cops.

Good comments THoff, and I tend to agree.

However, I also am a little annoyed at how quickly this promotion commenced after the cams started shipping in volume.

I paid full bore for both cam and a p2 card, and three months later Panny comes out with the promotion.

I'm not whining, but I ain't too delighted with the timing.

When p2 cards cost as much as cocoa puffs, I with ya.

Hey, I missed the P2 card promotion as well. I bought two 8GB P2 cards, and would have loved to have saved what I spent on the second card -- it would easily have paid for a Brevis35 HD.

Had Panasonic not started the P2 card promotion, nobody would have said one word. But giving away something that is worth between US$ 1100 and US$ 1200 suddenly makes them (Panasonic) jerks. Incredibly, people even complained when the promotion was extended past the original end date because they felt pressured into buying the camera to take advantage of the promotion. There's just no way to please some people.

You roll your dice and you take your chances...

Dont' worry about it - somehow people will be upset when they release 16gb cards, because they ONLY got an 8gb card for free.

Rebates happen.
There has to be a start and an end date to them.
It's the circle of life... or something.

I cant wait either

I cant wait either

I can't wait for the 16gb either, I can only imagine the price drop for 8gb and even the 4gb cards.

Hell if the 4gb cards happen to drop to $200-250 ...now thats gonna be a very nice day indeed. $400-600 for an 8gb anyone?

That's what I'm thinking... Then having 10 4g cards would be incredible... I'm sure the 16gig cards will be 2k or more too

i think the 8 gigers will not drop in price. if they do only sllightly. the 16 gigers will jut cost alot more. like 1900$ +

Unless panasonic has MASSIVE Frijoles and drops teh 8 giger down to 500$ and the 16giger in at 1100$. But they would have ot be Superman to do that. cause they will probably start losing money on P2 cards in the long run. Most likely the free 8gig card thing will stick around for a while, and since they are giving them out for free, they still selling additional ones. If the price drops, then the free cards will eat away a the profits, while they only reclaim ~50% of the cost of the sold cards. So in essence they would be losing 2 cards ( assuming every one buys a card and waits for a free one) for the price of half of one. That CANT make fiscal sense.

They dropped the 4gb by about half when the 8gb cards came out.
I don't see why it wouldn't happen that way again.
Moore's law and all...just my 2 cents.
