Information about the small brother of the HVX?

Where can I find informations about the small brother of the HVX, the ones with XD Media or the like, a joint-venture with Sony? Like the HVX, but smaller.

Correct, there are no product announcements yet.

AVC-HD is the new format that Panasonic and Sony announced. Panasonic announced separately that they will support recording to SD cards as well as to the previously-announced recording on mini-DVDR discs. Sony has announced a couple of small consumer cameras that use the format but I don't believe either are available for sale yet.

Panasonic has made no announcement regarding what/if/when they will produce with the format. Jan did say in another post that it may not happen this year.

Well, we have threads like this one in our forum... : (Thread running from 3.10.2006 - 03.01.2007)

Neue AVCHD Kamera von Panasonic

The (past) release dates of the two consumer cameras are on page 2 of the thread.

is this what you call "small brother" ?

and then last year we had once a thread with two pictures of the disc-based camera and of the card-based model...

There are some Panasonic AVC-HD models out now from the consumer division, but not from the broadcast division and no 24p. So I wouldn't consider them an HVX "little brother", more like a 13th cousin twice removed (once regularly, once by the police).

Not saying they're bad or anything, there have been some very positive reviews in fact, but they're not 24p filmmaker cameras.

Would you have any suggestions for a small camera that would allow me to blend with my HVX, P2 work flow and HD? (Need easily concealable camera, low profile, also possibly work as a second-side shot camera)

There is no such thing yet. You can get some tape-based cameras, but not a small one with 24p. You can get solid-state memory-card recording, but again not with 24p. If you don't mind the 60i/interlaced look, there are a few to recommend; the little Canon gets good praise, the Panasonic AVC-HD cameras are supposed to be very good, etc.
