How many hours of life?

How many hours of life do digital cameras, such as the HVX200, usually get? I know that can vary depending on abuse, etc. But what is the expected life in hours of recording/use?

From the HVX manual: when shooting to a P2 card while using the viewfinder, the battery will last approximately 140 minutes. I don't know about other cameras.

Oh, I'm sorry. I meant how many hours can you use the camera in it's overall lifetime before the camera itself dies... like mileage on a car.

1,000 hours? 2,000? I have no idea what the expected life is.

My Sony VX-1000, the first of this breed of prosumer cameras, lasted 10 years and was still going strong when I sold it a few months ago on Ebay. Never had to have it repaired. With no moving parts in the HVX, at least the P2 part, it seems it could achieve that easily without abuse. Your mileage may vary.

well some people a re beasts with their gear. but you know what, if you make a loving off it. its a tool like any other..... Panasonic builds them to go to anarctica, Africa, jungles, Iraq....... I think it will survive and over protective filmmmaker.
