Light loss with a mirror type teleprompter?

Next week I have a shoot with a small lcd/mirror teleprompter. First time for me using a teleprompter with the HVX. I was wondering how much light loss that might cost me and thus whether I need a higher light level to compensate. I am shooting a single presenter in a dressed up hotel room, taking along an Arri Softbank kit.

Thanks for any info!

Should be less than a stop, depending on the prompter. You probabaly won't need any noteable aditional lighting.

Good question though.

Ask the teleprompter operator.. They should know.. or check out a prompter site.. I used one on the beach, but I had that big light we call the sun, and really couldn't tell.. But I'd guess 1/2-1 stop..

We used a telepromptor last week with our HVX and had no noticeable difference. I didn't compare with and without, but had no trouble whatsoever getting good exposure.
