8 GB P2 Extended till the end of March

I'm not sure what there is to be confused about. The information at the link states the same thing as we were told when the rebate was first announced. I'm not saying what Panasonic will or won't do after this promotion expires, but if the deal is attractive enough for you now (and you are considering the HVX-200) . . . what is to be gained by waiting? Here is the text:

Simply register your camera with the following online form, and your free gift will be shipped to you. Please contact our helpdesk at 866-339-4296 with any questions.

Note this offer is only valid on Authorized US product.

The above link, it is confusing info if you don't click all the way through to the rebate section to see the earlier expiration date. Not waiting, have a US HVX, if a certain project gets legs, will need 2nd HVX, and the March period would be around the time we will know. Would be purchased by a US customer.

David, I agree, however, below it says: "For full Terms and Conditions and to request your free P2 card and book, please click here." So you have to read it in conjunction with the rebate link. Breaking it up like that, there will probably be a few angry people in the coming weeks who didn't read it in conjunction. Not exactly the most user friendly way to present the info, imo.
 
I agree Chris. You have two conflicting statements.

The law says that for written offers like this, the language is always construed against the party writing it.

But I don't understand why this isn't corrected or clarified immediately. The company sometimes leave a little bit to be desired.
 
Geez, it looks like Panasonic extended the free P2 card until the end of March and they haven't updated all the links yet because maybe it's....Christmas! :)

It didn't suddenly appear for the first time on Christmas.

The confusion is apparently affecting some buying decisions.

It seems pretty clear to me that Panny has extended the offer until the end of March. This isn't surprising since sales of everything are slow in Q1. Most places slow to a crawl the week before xmas, so I'm sure they'll get around to updating everything next week.
 
Well, I have a question about the rebate. I purchased my hvx in May of 2006. I went in and signed up for the special gift, and received a confirmation. My question is this, It appears that I am getting Barry's book, although I have already purchase one, but is the free 8 gig card only for NEW purchases?
 
Yes. The p2 card is only for purchases made from OCt. 1st, thru whenever Panny decides to end the rebate. Sorry, you won't qualify.

DAmmit... i put myself in near poverty trying to get that deal before the 31st!!!!

Oh well at least i still have the machine.
 
I have already recieve Barry's book. does that mean I'm not elligible for the P2 card?

I think I need to visit this site more often!
 
The 8GB P2 card is in addition to Barry's book, provided you bought it from an authorized dealer and during the promotion period.
 
hi, how long does it usually take for the promotional card to arrive after the camera is purchased... just curious if anyone knows.
