GREAT JOB! MTV ready. Looks like Super35 to me.. Love the BLACKS with this cam.. Great Edit.. I wanted to see the chick jump in tho... ;-) Great location as well.. Who is the band? Website?

What size crew did you have? 1st AC? Lenses? Lights? Grip? Dolly? All handheld? FEED US INFO :-)

Personally, I thought the coloration went overboard. Too much yellow. Also, all the low, upward close-ups of the lead singer got on my nerves... not that it was necessarily a bad shot, but there was just too much of it and it's kind of a cliche rock video shot. The yellow flashes were distracting and quickly began to bug me.
I'd have to say that overall, you did a great job. With everything you had going on in the video, it could have turned out to be a big ol' molten pile of poopy, but you brought it all together and turned out a pretty well flowing and conistent product. Just my opinions... good work.

Colin,

From what I'm told I can achieve the same type of slomos using my Firestore (no P2s here yet). Would appreciate workflow regarding record settings, FCP capture & FCP sequence settings. Much appreciated, and well done!

what would you like to know about my workflow? post? ... well it was cut on fcp on a quad 2.8gz system w/ 4mb ram. i like p2 because there is no capturing involved...and yeah im not sure what you want to know about the workflow.
Thanks! The only thing left i would like to know is about camera movements- how did you get such great feeling of free camera moves? Did you use steadycam or that was done in FCP?
(sorry for my english)

Really nice video as always from you/DI !
Did you use any additional lights, besides the sun?
And how was your shooting ratio?
And how did you focus the handheld shots?

Excellent Video!

Not trying to sound like a smart aleck, but did you not mean to say 4 Gigabyte[1] RAM, as opposed to 4 Megabytes Ram,

Of course I can't wait untill I get my 1 yottabyte Harddisk ;)

haha , indeed i did mean to say gig - im not THAT bad with computers.

The motion of the everything was just me opperating the camera no steady cam (tho there are a few dolly shots) and no smoothing in post. Focus was also handled by myself completely at will, usually just finding it during the take, and falling in and out on purpose. We had various arri lights daylight balanced i dont know exactly what was there... not much though, no soft boxes etc. it was a low budget video and there were only 4 crew ppl.

nice

nice

Nice work. I liked the coloration and felt the entire thing flowed well. Very professional. The band is good too - I dig the song.

colin,

cool video. looks great. i like the dirt on the cymbals. that camera is sweet. did you use adapters for shallow DOF?

I know you mentioned low-budget, but what was it? they're on universal so it must have been something decent.

Wow great video man, ofcourse after using the mute button lmao. I don't think I could stand listening to another emo song like that, but the video was really amazing, congrats my friend ;)

I thought this was some kind of "ten-second epic" corporate-sponsered contest similar to the 30-60 second cellphone festivals a while back...so then of course, my reaction: "That was longer than ten seconds..."

Video rocks, Music sucks. If I see another rehashed alternative punk bank band I'm gonna' hurl. Hope you get a better gig, Talent shouldn't be wasted. On the talentless.
