Adobe plans to begin a major product launch in its second quarter, releasing upgrades to its full line of design software, the company's chief executive said on Thursday.

English versions of those programs, which are sold under the Creative Suite brand, will start shipping at the end of the second quarter, Adobe CEO Bruce Chizen said in an interview with Reuters. Foreign language versions will be released early in the third fiscal quarter.

"It will be the biggest release in Adobe's history," he said.

i'm wondering what kind of "native" HVX support we will see then now that Adobe bought Serious Magic. I'm kind of sad about having to wait until May/June? for it.

Adobe has already said publicly that their products for the Mac will go Universal Binary with the next major update, which this is. So part of that release is all their Mac stuff will now run natively on Intel Macs, rather than dog ass slow in Rosetta. This makes them officially the LAST software company to convert their stuff for Intel Macs.

Microsoft's Office Suite is still in Rosetta and likely to be until Q2 2007.

The PS beta is pretty suite on my MacPro.

Don't get your hopes up. Adobe has always been a day late and a dollar short when it comes to video software and updates.

Notice he said "design software" and "Creative Suite" and not Production Suite or production software.

Just is just fluffy CS3 stuff that was originally announced a while back like new Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, etc. and I would be very surprised if any new video related products were released at that time.
