"Sparrow" on DVD - OFFICIAL THREAD - <DVD AVAILABLE>

Hi Norm
Recieved the DVD a few days ago ..GREAT!!!!!!

This so much better than the 5 min short ...love the behind the scenesn as well .

My brother did not like the 5 min short BUT really enjoyed the longer version .
lol he said after watching the behind the scenes ..He is human after all ..

If you haven't bought the DVD yet , do so ..it is well worth it .

Oh my goodness, Ian, it took THAT long to get it?! Sorry about that, but really glad to hear you guys enjoyed the DVD! :) Don't forget, there are four hidden easter eggs on there, so if you're having trouble finding them, just let me know:
  1. Comic Book Intro
  2. Blooper/Outtakes
  3. Script (prob. only legible on BIG TV's)
  4. Commentary Audio Track (also accessible simply with remote via 2nd audio channel).

Hi guys
Blame the posties for that .Funny some items will come in 3 0r 4 days from the west coast .So I blame the postal system this time .
I'll have a look for the hidden eggs . I would like to see the Bloopers .lol
Ian

Officially rec'd payment today from Newbury Comics (www.newburycomics.com) for their bulk order of SPARROW DVD's to resell across their 27 stores on the east coast! Shipping them out tomorrow.

Also sending our first copy of SPARROW to Istanbul, Turkey tomorrow! The purchaser stated they heard about SPARROW via DVXuser.

That is awesome, man. It's great that it's actually getting out on the market. Any idea when they'll make it available?

Just mailed them out today, so I imagine by the end of next week in their DVD bins or shelves ... or by the week after.

Hey Norm, I know I promised a review a long time ago but I've been swamped with my own DVD project.

Either way, I've finally made my way through the DVD. Everything (the packaging, menus, picture quality, etc) is top notch. Great extras and a freaking great rib recipe to boot.

The 6 minute version you entered for Hero Fest doesn't do justice to the longer version of Sparrow. It must've been hard to cut as much as you did and fit the 6 minute constraints. People out there, if you liked the version that was in Hero-fest, you definitely need to check out this cut. Congrats, again, on the Newbury Comics thing. Be well, man.

Thank You, And Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank You, And Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks Shaun for the quote (I'm a little late in this reply), and I loved it so much that I used yours & several other DVXuser members' in a big e-mail campaign I'm sending out right now. Much appreciated!

To you & everyone else here on DVXuser, I want to thank you for the sales success SPARROW has experienced, and more importantly want to wish you & yours a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!

:dankk2:

Finally got around to watching Sparrow, all I can really say to anyone who is on the fence about buying this is: "It's way better than Broken!". The suplemental features are top notch as well. I always appreciate production diaries that excede the 30 minute mark. I have yet to try the rib receipe, but it certianly looks good... mmmm... ribs. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the great DVD. Hope to see more in the future!

GEEZ, Karl, thanks! I'm beyond greatful to have someone put the overall DVD on par with 'Broken', let alone state what you just did. Really glad you liked it.

Now, you're getting me off my can to watch yours. I got it in the mail nearly a week ago, and just haven't had the time to watch anything lately. As soon as I do, I'll post in your thread ... I've heard great things, so looking forward to it.

Come to think of it, I still have to watch Owen's MY CHRISTMAS SOLDIER as well (sorry Owen!). K, do or die, I'm watching these two DVD's this week!

I got owen's the same day I got yours, and I watched them both, one after the other. (It was an abrubt transition, to say the least.) I'm planning to post about Owen's next. The way I see it, if we can all manage to buy eachother's DVDs, we can break even after about 100 copies!

Watched Owen's last week, need to post about it now. I'll be watching yours this week, Karl, and will get thoughts up on your thread. Owen's was great, really enjoyed it & looking forward to yours ... just so behind & hoping to get caught up this week on my 'to-do' list.

Thanks!

Oh, and Jose Luis Martinez Diaz .... you had ordered a copy of the DVD, but sending it to Madrid, Spain via Paypal was wanting to charge nearly $18 (cheapest option)! So I took it to the local post office in person, sending via International Parcel Post ... it's the only way I could do it to fit within the $3.95 S/H. So there won't be a tracking number via Paypal, but it is in the mail & you should have it within 10 days or less.

Well, thanks!. It really sounded a bargain for me when checkout, but I though you'll contact me with the correct s/h...and yes, I'm a cheap bast*rd. :)

I'm about to send to customflix a DIY tutorial in make-up fx that went quite well here in Spain (www.specialmakeupfx.com, now translated and adapted to english. Not really a chance to compete with existing US tutorials, but interesting anyway, and shoot with the DVX100.

As soon as I got the customflix thing to work, I'll be sending you a free copy to cover your shipping expenses.

Jose
