Odd question: Photo of you and your A1/G1

Hi people,

I haven't seen the A1/G1 in real life yet, but hopefully this precious camera will be mine this friday. I've seen a lot of pictures on the internet, but none of them showed a person using it.

Does anyone have a full-body picture of himself holding the A1/G1? I'd really like to see how big or small it actually is.

Thanks in advance!:)

sure.

Hope that helps ya :D

edit: by the way, I expected it to be bigger. It actually feels quite small to me. I LOVE THIS CAMERA! see ya later. gotta go take some stills ! :)

It is a helluva little package, isn't it? It's just the right size, not too heavy and feels totally solid. It's just plain fun to use too.

I think the A1 will easily be Canon's most popular pro/semipro camera ever.

amen to that brutha!
it's almost sad how solid it is :crybaby:

Thanks a lot Wookie! I expected the camera to be a little bigger, but this seems just perfect. Man, can't wait to get my hands on it.

:dankk2:

The size is right on. Its big enough to feel solid and give good access to all the external controls, yet small enough to not be a huge burden to carry, yet large enough to impress typical passers by. I just used mine at the GA Aquarium yesterday, and it was amazing how people actually tried to stay out of my way. When I use my little Optura people just get right in front of me. With the A1 people would duck or stand there and wait for me to finish taping. And people actually yanked their kids back when they'd wander too close.

Also, and this varies by user of course, but it hurts my wrist quite a bit when trying to use it as a one handed "handycam". With my monopod attached to it, the rig became perfect for me howerver (kinda used it like a pistol grip for my left hand).

I agree. XL-H1 and XH-G1 will be bought only by people who know what they're doing from now on :) XH-A1 is one great move by Canon.

I have a pick with my shoulder mount rig in action, but gotta go out in 5 minutes... post it up later.

Also curious. I'll probably get a shoulder mount too for my moving footage. This weekend I'm making a dolly, so... shoulder mount + tripod + dolly = pretty good stabilization.

Ok here you go - second pic my filter trays arent straight :p but no filter in anyway. CAVISIOn Mattebox, grips, shoulder mount. REDROCK 18 inch rods.

How to make a small cam looking big...:)
But Q. is it possible to see through the viewfinder now? And using a remote zoom/focus?

Heh thats the trick with these smaller cams though, perception is everything with those that know no better.

And yes to all questions.
