"The Faithful" Trailer, now online - HVX + M2

Just for a quick update:

I got the final version of the film tonight with the entire score and finished sound design in place and I'm just blown away by how amazingly well everything came together. I am really proud of this film and I'm so excited to be able to share it with all of you. Right now we are finishing up all of the special features for the DVD and the screening will follow very soon. We are aiming for the first or second weekend in December, but are still working things out with the theater. The moment I know the official date, you will know too (believe me, I'm on the producer to get this happening ASAP!). :) Thanks to everyone for all of the great support... the road has been longer than we first expected but the end result is better than we could have forseen. Lots more to come very soon!

Thanks again.

PM me please

This film looks great I would also like to attend the screening if possible. Can you PM me and let me know the details. I have shown the preview to at least 6 people and they all said that this is a movie they would pay to see.

Is there any way to upload the movie to the Internet?? I live in Costa Rica so it's impossible to go to the theather. Actually I bought my M2 after watching this trailer and I'm amazed of the quality. I wish you the best of lucks on the premiere!!

fede:lang,

Thanks for the nice words! I don't believe that we will be uploading the entire film to the internet, but DVDs will be available after the screening. The DVDs will be region-free, so they should work anywhere in the world! :) There will be lots of information to come soon; right now we're really working hard to make sure the screening gets locked in ASAP so that we can get the word out in a timely manner.

I'd love to purchase a DVD when you release it... speaking of that, any chance you could put a directory on the DVD with a "larger than SD" version of the film?

Jim,

I hadn't thought of that before, but it's a really cool idea! I highly doubt a full DVCPRO HD version would fit on the DVD, even if they are DL discs, as the film is nearly 40 minutes in length. However, an HD version in h.264 sounds reasonable to me (if memory serves me correctly, they did something similar to that on one of the T2 special edition discs). I am trying to pack as many special features on the disc as possible, and I will definitely look into that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, that's what I'm thinking... a compressed "standard" codec for QT like Sorenson or mpeg4/h.264 and/or a WM9 file (which was what I think was on the T2 DVD bonus CD...).

Just saw this trailer now...whoa! Very, very nice work. I will be watching this one closely! I know a lot of people I know would mistake this trailer for a hollywood film...no kidding.

Haakon,

Can't believe I never saw this thread before. Looks like a great film - put me down for a copy.
