Music Video Shot on A1 (link provided)

Well, I shot my first ever music video this last weekend on my new A1. I am best friends with the lead singer of a band out of Baltimore called "ashes remain" - a alt/rock band. We conceptualized this video a month ago and made plans for this last weekend. It was shot in Sedona, AZ - and believe it or not, in my apartment's back lot... at the foot of South Mountain in Phoenix. Now guys... I have zero training in video, and so I sorta cringe in showing it. But I do hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

The noise you see in the clip is due to compression... (qt, 17 megs) trust me... this image POPS! We were blown away with what we came away with... what an amazing camera... thanks to Elton for the setting suggestions.

If anyone would like full resolution stills of certain parts, let me know...

UPDATED DECEMBER 2007 - with new version of song, with the full band -

Thanks!

Very nice, DC. Was it just you and your friend on the shoot?

For being a noob that's just fantastic looking! Good song too.

Thanks for sharing. :)

Awesome! Glad you liked it!

Yeah.. pretty much. I had others there to help carry things... lol -- but basically, that was it. Though some on the set offered some suggestions on angles, and such.. All shot on a tripod or handheld...edited with FCP - and obviously, no filters, tricks, or gizmos. :P Hopefully, next time I will have a Merlin! :) Color was an issue with one set being mainly green and yellow... the other blue and red... but that was on purpose... as a means to contrast between two worlds, in a sense.

Very saturated, without being OVER-saturated, dude! Looks great.

Is there a higher-res version or one of the .m2ts that you have? I'd like to see some of the raw footage before CCing and such.

Looks great, man.

no .m2ts... but higher res, you bet! Oh... and very little CC was done at all. I would say only 1/4th was...

Nice. Try to get stills before and after CC if it's a possibility! I'd like to see what came out of the camera.

Thanks a lot, dude.

Nice for a first time. Very rich saturated colors. Can you share the on-camera settings?

The settings are the ones Elton suggested:
Cinegamma2, Knee low, Color gain +2, and Black middle.

that's the kind of thing i was waiting for!
nice work!
now i want a A1!

Thanks! You bet you do! If a noob can do this, what can someone that knows what they are doing do? Amazing stuff, that's what! The colors are rich, DOF is amazing, and the resolution is breathtaking.

oh wow, the image on it is unreal! I love what I just saw, thanks for sharing it.

if you want any feedback on the video, I would try to add some additional story line to it just to break the same ole' scene up a bit. also, some of the clips look out of sync with the auctual audio/song.

Did you use a higher shutter speed for some of the shots?
nice work, ive been waiting for someone to do a music video on this camera for some time now.. thanks for sharing.
