Take a look at this spot . It was shot using an Advanta-Jib Lite with a DVX100a. F6/master ped -6/ chroma +3.

We didn't have much time to shoot but it turned out pretty good

The jibs are reasonably priced at around $1800 USD for a standard 4ft reach jib (4ft from camera to tripod) and around $2650 USD for the full 10ft reach package with all the options. Take a look at the website for more info

The Ferrari belongs to a buddy of mine, he's a wedding videographer . He can afford a Ferrari 'cause he's not married. His other Ferrari, a red 348 has a licence plate saying

"NO WIFE"

I'll try to use it in the next jib commercial

Huh? I didn't realize those words could go together. Does he cater to the stars or something??

The jib looks very versitile... but also looks lke a pretty steep learning curve for the operator. Price seems about right, though. In a few months I'll be looking, so I'll keep my eye on this one in particular.

rcbrown, I've used one of these jibs and I'll tell you, it's the easiest jib on the market to use. It works on a pan handle just like a tripod. It's so straight forward is nuts.
