Just got my HVX today and I've yet to open the box - GASP. I'm at work
and my son is here, so really, I have my priorities, that and the fact my
uv filter isn't in from bhphoto.

But thank you, Jasmine, for all of your help, for the cool batteries I got
with the camera, you guys rock!
 
I just received an HVX200 yesterday from Spec Comm. Got the batteries as well. I placed my rebate request immediately for the 8 GB card and the HVX Book...the request went through and gave me a number instantly.

I'm still very pissed about buying my HVX three weeks before the 8GB rebate period from Specialized Communications. I ended up spending 500 bucks on a 4GB card that's near useless since I started shooting 1080 24p. I've stopped coming to these forums to casually browse because I don't want to see anything that reminds me of it. This rebate has been the only negative experience I've had in buying the HVX.
 
Congrats Charli. I got a pair of HVX's, 10 Batteries total, a Dolging TC400 charger, and a couple of 8gig cards from Spec-Comm at the beginning of October. I started a thread to spread the love about Spec-Comm. They really take care of you don't they? It's such a breath of fresh air.

Hope you love your HVX. Mine frustrated me at first, because it is so beyond my level of skill. But it is slowly frustrating me less and less :)

....whew.... glad I wasn't the only one who felt intimidated initially..... then I come on here and read all tbis stuff about how the damn CHIPS work.... I thought,....I'm in over my head.. My god, what have I done?!! .....as the days go by..... I'm darned happy...

We're trying to get better about that... :) The techno-issues dominated for a long time, but as the levels of product approach more parity, we hope to have more discussion on practical matters that you can use, rather than obsessing over pixel count and progressive vs. frame mode... :thumbsup:

Seriously, we're glad that Spec-Comm takes such good care of our members, and it's always good to hear happy user reports (and that the people who take extra care to assist us get rewarded too!)
 
Just a follow-up. Submitted my rebate request 11/21, received my HVX book, HVX CD and 8-Gig card from Panasonic today via UPS.

Another thumbs up to Spec-Comm. I ordered two HVX's and two 8gig cards a few weeks ago. One of the cards was on backorder and came in today. They just sent it overnight for me so I would have it for a shoot this weekend.

Excellent customer service!

I hope our rebate cards and books come in soon as well.
 
Congratulations on getting your HVXs guys, lots of fun ahead and lets see some cool stuff.

Still pretty angry with Panasonic UK as we've had no special offers. No book [had to buy my own] no 8gb card, no nothing. Just pay a high price for the unit.

It is a great camera though, just a shame that the markets aren't truly global.
