Ramjet Films presents "Re-Birth"

Kind of. I mean, some of the scenes have no dialogue within them. So they are descriptive in that sense. But there is no description of camera angles or anything like that going on. It is all description of the action, dialogue, v.o. etc. Relevant to the action of the story. It probably would be less pages in a different format, now that I think of it. 10 page pdf, though. I'm going to start thinking about it in terms of pace, now that I think we are getting close here. I don't want to have to cut too much. Because, I know what the first things to go would be, but they really add to the telling of the story.
I've asked Larry what he thinks about the length, so I am sure he will chime in on the subject sometime soon.

I just opened the PDF and it is only 9 pages of script (10 must include the title page) and the 9th/final page is only 3/4 filled.

The 1 page/min I think is more true with a longer piece as it is an overall average, not an exact figure. I am confident that these 9 pages can be comfortably cut into a beautiful 6 minute project. You'll probably have to do opening credits over action and be extremely brief with closing credits for the contest entry, but otheriwise I think it will work.

Just my $0.01 9/10 (can't afford a whole $0.02  )

First of all, I don't think that I can trust a writer who can't even afford the entire two cents! Come on man... we're all broke here. Don't hold out! :)

As for credits, you know... the STORY is most important. If you can't get them in, I wouldn't lose sleep over them. That damn 6 minute cut-off is the killer!

That's just my $0.02 1/10 (I throw in what Larry can't cover!)

You're looking at 8 and1/2 or 3/4? That's cool. That I can live with. Mine is 12 for some reason. title. 10 of script, and one of nothing. I hope we are looking at the same script :)

Anyways, I didn't send too much in the way of notes to Larry yet, I'll wait and see what he says about those, though. I'm gonna try to send another small(yeah right) batch of them to him here in a while. Gotta sit down and start reading it again. But the wife just brought me spaghetti, so that will have to wait for a minute :)

Starving artist here!! Ok, actually I just got back from Taco Bell, so I'm not really starving...but it's not like Jason is paying me or anything. Geesh!!

Nice, thanks!! I save that $0.00 1/10 for a rainy day (and it's supposed to rain tomorrow, I think).

TEd- Wrong. My wife made the spaghetti, with her special Indonesian spices :) ke hee.

I just sent my second round of notes on draft 4 to Larry. They were pretty long, but they basically just said that I don't have anymore notes at this point in time. I don't know i that is good or bad, but I am ok right now. I'm gonna let it gel, he will do the same, and we will get back to each other. Plus we're still waiting on the ghost of Tolkein to get back to us with his notes on the latest draft :) Sorry, I couldn't think of anything more original than that. Which is why Larry is the writer!

Jason

And Larry. Just checked your pdf version from the ftp. It was indeed a solid 8 1/2 or 8 2/3 pages of script. That looks to be good to me. Some of this stuff is taking place simultaneously as well, but of course, it cannot be written like that on the page. I think we are in good shape time wise.

Thanks to Larry for all his hard work to this point.
Jason

One more note: We are now at 32 scene changes. That does sound like quite a lot, but I am hoping you will find that they play well with the flow of the story, and the manner that we are telling the story will be interesting and a bit of a different take from the typical linear format.

Oh, I didn't realize that it was an Indoesian variety of Spaghetti.... I was thinking you had the can of Chef Boy R Dee emptied into a pot. (Yuk!)

Was it spicy? I love Spicy!!!

Oh, script..... yeah, whatever. :)

She is the queen of spicy. Though she has been becoming a bit americanized lately. You would love her cooking. Everyone does. I got really lucky there, with my skinny ass.

Yeah, well... when you come out here to work on TTN with the rest of us, bring her along!!! :D

JASON!!!! Will you have the photo ready today? We have to shoot some scenes this weekend and we re going to have the poster on some.

Oh, my god! I completely forgot Versus. I'm sorry. I've just been a bit sick lately, and I let it slip my mind. I forgot to bring the digital camera but I'll use the HVX and grab a still in Edius. Please, if you are online send me a pm and remind me later today. I'm going to work right now.

Hey Jason, I hope that you and your family had a great Thanksgiving! (don't let that wife of yours get too "americanized!" Soon you'll be eating Hot dogs and Mac-n-cheese!)

Tom, funny guy you are!

So Jason, what's new???

Not too much...that lazy writer of his thought he should get a break for Thanksgiving. Can you believe that? :Drogar-Angry(DBG): If I were him, I'd sit that writer down and have a long talk with him.

Seriously though, we got some good second party comments/feedback on the script and we spent the holiday letting the ideas/thoughts/comments/etc marinate in the back of our minds while the triptophan (sp?) put us to sleep :)

I think we were pretty close to a final draft before that step...this is more of a polish pass over the script (in my opinion anyway, but I'm sure that doesn't count for too much I'm just the writer :D )

Peace,
Larry
