Why the run around about Canon vs Sony?

Heard rumors about a xl3 or a possible upgrade for the H1 soon....any thoughts? Maybe a end of a year rebate? Also I just went to the DV expo at the LA convention center last week and got to checkout the canon's and the sony's. It is amazing when you talk to their reps that about having the canon camera be used on Vegas that they seem to clam up and act dumb. When specifically asked will your A1 or G1 be used in sony vegas their reaction is I know it works for FCP/AVID/ADOBE but I don't know if it works. When asked the same question to a Sony Vegas rep his reaction was as he wasn't sure but as long as it comes out as a M2T file it shouldn't be a problem. I wish these people can be up and up..after all we are droping 4-10 grand in their product just get this BS run around. PS I went to EVS booth and asked the same question and got a fast straight answer that the HDV is Sony's codec and that the Canon's have no problem in editing in Vegas. So therefore it is no problem.

It comes out the firewire port as m2t and does work with Vegas. The only thing FCP has over the other apps is the ability to print back to tape with 24F material.

I'm basing this off of Vegas users that I know. I certainly could be wrong but I thought the word was that the latest Vegas and PPro won't print 24F back to tape.
