Best price out there for HVX with cards?

I am hoping the price comes down with Xmas around the corner or maybe even if Pana upgrades - but has anyone seen a good package deal on solid state (generic cards) and the HVX?

There are no generic P2 cards, Panasonic is the only manufacturer. Higher capacity cards (16GB) will be out soon, and should put some price pressure on 8GB and especially 4GB cards, so that may factor into your buying decision.

As far as a good deal on a HVX200 package is concerned, I can fully recommend Shawn Tallard at Full Compass, which is where I got my camera and P2 cards. I don't know what the price is today, but Full Compass is competitive and an authorized Panasonic broadcast equipment dealer and service center, and Shawn's been outstanding -- try contacting him for a quote:

P2 card cost update

P2 card cost update

I believe we have the best pricing out there on these cards (at least according to other members who have contacted me and my own research).

Here is our current every-day deal on 4GB cards:

...and for the 8GB cards:

Further discounts apply for forum members who have either done business with me previously, or are doing business with me for the first time. It should be noted that this is not a formal Full Compass promotion, but one that I personally am offering to forum members, so it is important to contact me directly for additional discounts.

ONLY BUY FROM AUHTORIZED DEALERS>>>>>>> I dont know how many times in life, people have to say, "If it is to good to be true, it most likely is..."

I can say from my experience with SpecComm, that THEY, ALWAYS, come though, ALWAYS. They go above and beyond with their service. I dont think they should have dropped the price on the HVX200, casue there is no reason. But P2 cards are a differnt story, and yet they are the lowest I know of for the 4gig and 8gig cards. They are an Authorized Panny Dealer and amazing to deal with. GO FOR GOLD

After 8 months the price I got from AVS might still be the best. 5600 with 1- 4 gig card, and free shipping...

I second Full Compass. I just bought my hvx200 and 4 gig p2 from there. Excellent service and literally the cheapest I have found from a certified pannasonic dealership (and service center). I also second Shawn pretty cool dude:thumbup:

Thanks for the good words Patrick.

AVS does have a good deal. That's why we had to be competitive.:) $5299 + $499 - 2% = $5682 - $99 for free battery = $5583

Thanks Justyn!

Being this thread relates to those interested in purchasing, it seems appropriate to mentionn that we just launched our own credit card with no interest for 6 months and no required payments. Bottom line is if you pay it off sometime within 6 months that you pay no interest.

See my sig for the link on the details, and let me know if you have questions.

I cannot speak about the other companies, but let me just throw in my recommedation...

I bought two hvx's from spec-comm and accessories. They are an auth. dealer, have great prices, and (in my opinion) go above and beyond what one would normally expect in the way of customer service.

Great prices, great service.

Jason

i dont get ppl..they are willing to save a few hundred just to be scammed..lol....born every minute it seems...

Studio exchange in Burbamk has the camera for $4995.
I think their selling the 8gb cards for $1050
Their number is (818) 840-1351

I spoke to BARB at AVS yesterday. They are currently at $4825 for the camera though I believe you have to be in their "region" to get this price. And you can get the teleproducer's sales tax discount meaning on 2.5% tax

I'm sure both places are good, but I bought mine from Shawn at full compass and the deal and the service were A1+! He took the time to talk and answer my questions without rushing me off the phone and It was on my doorstep two days later. Ain't supposed to be that easy!! Now if I could just get as good at making the videos as this thing is at shootin' 'em I'd be gettin' somewhere!! If you're use to using a $1000 point and shoot then get ready for a learning curve, but the reward is awesome!

Thanks again Shawn,

Pro Video is a *very* competetive market, so I can see why they wish to offer such an incentive to purchase from them.

However, no dealer (no matter what they are selling) can offer the best service, best price, and best post-sales support all at the same time.

If a dealer is offering a "best price" compared to other authorized dealers, then typically one of the other 2 aspects of the customer's experience will certainly suffer.

Ideally, if you wish to have a good all around buying experience, then focusing on price alone will put you into a potentially disapointing situation. This is hard given that these days we can simply google "best price AGHVX100" and be tempted with "steals" from any one of many grey market companies. The problem is that 99% of the time, they are stealing from you instead of you getting a steal from them.

We try our best to offer a good combination of those 3 aspects of the buying experience.

Also, newegg.com is not an authorized Panasonic Broadcast dealer. I have verified this several times with my manufacturers reps. I'm surprised that a company so well known for service is simply lying to it's customers.
