Mark and Ted's Excellent Adventure in Drama

By the way, I took a moment to go back and watch REM, which I keep on my laptop. You are so damn lucky to be able to work with Rebecca.

LOL, thanks! I know people liked the eye candy aspect of REM, but seemed to genuinely like the performance as well ... so we've beefed up this short to allow the performance section to knock it out of the park. Really looking forward to starting rehearsals for it, etc.

We've also gotten to be really good friends as well (our spouses, etc.). As such, she's coming over tonight, going out with my wife for dessert while I put the kids down, then coming back to work on a script polish with me.

tiring... i was too sick to shoot yesterday so i handed off my dvx to the crew and let them shoot with it. i had a meeting today (and am still getting over being sick) so i didn't shoot with them today, either.

man, i'm in love with the hvx. i can't stop thinking about it!

Team TTN, forgive me if this has been discussed already...I've tried my best keeping up with this thread but I'm sure I've missed a lot.

What is TTN about? Any details on story, what type of story, setting, time period, ect? The reason I ask is because you've assembled such a large VFX team. If you can't reveal anything at this time, no biggie, I understand.

Geoff,

Although we're being deliberately obscure at the moment, we do intend to reveal some critical aspects of the story as we move a bit further on.

We have a stellar VFX team but we aren't making a VFX extravaganza. The nature of the story requires that we put a lot of effort into making the climax believable and cheapo FX will screw a dramatic work every time.

Our VFX team is just now working out some issues but we should be generating some material pretty soon that will allow us to start revealing some of our approach and some of the techniques involved.

Stay tuned. We'll definitely be putting some good stuff on the thread in the weeks to come.

Hello all, I have been asked "where have I been" having not had much presence on the boards here, lately.

Well....

I returned from California and spent some wonderful time with my wife and TRIED to keep the dvxuser site out of mind. (Not an easy thing to do even with a woman as beautiful and wonderful as my wife, Diane!)

Also, I was informed that a show I agreed to perform in was actually going up 7 days earlier than I was led to believe!!!! It was the ACTOR'S NIGHTMARE come true for me!!!!

Basically, I agreed to do a children's show (Charlotte's Web) before I went to CA. I was going to miss 2 of the 3 rehearsals but they still wanted me. A script was supposed to be dropped off before I left but wasn't. I figured, well.... once I get home, I'll have 12 days to learn it. Not the case. I found out on Saturday that the show was on Tuesday (yesterday!) at 10am.

So I have spent the last 48 hours cramming the lines for 3 roles and 2 songs (1, of which, was a solo) in my head. (and because it was a kid's show, I couldn't rely on my favorite "du-all" line of "f*ck" to bail me out!!!)

The show went off great and I survived the actor's nightmare.

In addition to the nightmare, I was asked to come in hang lights for the show. (which is how I learned the show was on the 14th instead of the 21st, when I questioned WHY they were hanging the show SO early!)

And on top of all of that, I came home to find out that a dear friend of mine (29 years old) is in a coma from a fast growing, inoperable brain tumor. She is such a wonderful person, a GREAT actress and is going to die WAY TOO SOON. Her name is Lisa Richardson and you will see a film by me in the future dedicated to her.

So, that's the skinny.

I should be around a bit more now!

Ted

Yeah. I sing. I wouldn't run out and look for my latest album but I get by! :)

I am just getting caught up on your thread, John.

Come on, you expect us to just take you at your word? Where's the video of the performance?

Hope you had fun, and hope you didn't scare too many little kiddies

Hey you forum mavens, can you answer me the following?

a) Is there a way to search for UNREAD messages in your PM folders? I'm showing 9 unread and am having a devil of a time finding where they are buried.

b) You have the option to Download all Private Messages as : XML | CSV | Text ...... I know "text" but what apps are best to read XML and SCV?

Well, I do this show again on the 28th.... maybe I'll set up a video camera for all you to have a peek!

Just a note in case any DVXers with VFX or compositing experience would like to join our team, we've got some nice elements that should be quite fun to work on without being onerous or overly complicated. We're dividing up chores and would be happy to consider adding to our group. If interested, PM me and I'll fill you in on the project.

I don't see any way of sorting or filtering the inbox. But unread message titles should be White Bold text and read messags should be White Normal text.

Internet Explorer will display XML and MS Excel will display both XML and CSV. There are other tools, but those I know for sure work. I always download my PM Inbox in Text, seems to work well enough for me.

Peace,
Larry
