So you have a Red-servation and $20K....

How would a lens like this perform on Red:

"Mint Zoom-NIKKOR 35-105mm Lens 1:3.5-4.5 This compact Nikon Nikkor manual focus slide zoom with variable maximum aperture covers the focal length from 35mm for scenics, groups, architecture, and interiors to 105mm portrait/moderate telephoto. At the 35mm setting, its macrofocus capability permits it to be focused down to 10.6 inches."

2K and 1080p shooting.

IE: the 17-35mm in S35 = 26-55mm. The director wants to zoom in more, but you explain that you can't because you don't have a telephoto lens because you spent all you're money on the camera, the 17-35mm is the only lens you have and the production didn't have any money to rent any other lenses.

Answer? Put it in S16 mode to get a 55-115mm range (roughly).

I know using windowed mode to get telephoto shots isn't the best method, but it is a way.

Hi,

A 17-35mm lens is always a 17-35mm lens regardless of camera or format it's used on.

It it however true that 17 is wide on S35 and not very wide for S16.

Personnally I own a D2x, I still do professional still photography so I need something with a bit more bite. I just recently aquired the 18-200mm AFS VR (Vibration Reduction) Nikkor and I have to say, it's one of the sharpest, best all around lenses I have ever used! I was very surprised but it equalls all my best F2.8 "Pro" zooms and even comes damn close to some of my primes. I actually am on a road trip to Michigan for my best friend's wedding right now and this lens has been on the camera about 85% of the time. Here are some samples...
I'm sure you've shoot with 1Ds MKII, what did you think about it compare to the D2x?

Do you know when will Nikon release its full-frame sensor for its pro-DSLR?
