P2 Data - Locked - Annoying

Hey,

I've been dumping my P2 data onto my laptop but when I go to delete later every file is locked.

I've been going through each file unlocking it but it takes a lot of time. Is there a faster way of deleting the locked P2 data?

Can I unlock an entire folder and its content?

This is OSX 10.4

Thanks.

Matt

Make sure you only trash the Contents folder and keep the lastclip.txt file on the card... Don't trash the whole thing.. And like BenB said, format the card in the camera ever couple offloads..

escozooz,

I'm not sure the other answers are what you are looking for and since I have experienced the same problem you are having, I will post the solution I came up with.

I think this only works on the files themselves ...meaning, you can't select the top level folder and have it work on the sub folders (I don't think it works anyway).

Anyway, what I did is open the folder with the locked items and just do a "select all" and hold down the Control key (I think it's control, it's the one that acts like a right-mouse button) and you will notice that the "GET INFO" menu selection changes to "GET SUMMARY INFO"...that will at least allow you to do all the files in one move.

But again, then you have to go into each folder and do this same thing. But this way is much easier than trying to unlock one file at a time. Really, the Mac needs some kind of way of selecting the top level folder and affecting all the sub folders and files.

Anyway, hope this helps, but maybe the other posts were what you were looking for.
