Envision & RebeccaD Present "Where Silence Falls"

Hey Norm, good to hear you and Ryan aren't now mortal enemies. I was wondering when I saw you two weren't collaborating. I was trying to think of a delicate way to ask Ryan if you guys had a falling out :-).

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to seeing your short! Steve Waters is a friend of mine so I know your lighting will be top notch!

Btw, we need to hang out soon, consume some fine NW pints, etc.

Heh, I see you do the same thing and reserve the first few posts for stuff. I almost missed mine, I pressed post onthe second one and it said to wait 30 seconds and when it finally went through someone elses was right below mine.

That is a pretty good idea. I wish I had thought of it :) Ah, well. I guess I'll just have to keep my one post nice and organized as I have stuff to put on it.

Jason

You can delete your first one and restart it like I did the last fest to clear out the chatter and get those first few spots.

Hey Shawn! I don't think I knew you were a member on here ... glad to see you here & thanks! Yeah, Steve's a great guy & has some nice tricks to use for lighting, etc.

Definitely beer soon ... just need to get our schedules to mesh!

Initial post updated with poster (not totally happy with it, may still go through some revisions).

Also, Justin Durban (Edgen) is added as Composer!

Thanks Brandon. :) I thought after PANDORA I wouldn't want to do it again (direct & act), but it was also my first time working with an actual crew in that film, so it was a LOT at the moment. I really dig gritty stuff for acting, and this will certainly do it, and I've had more experience working with a crew, defining vision, etc. since so I should have a less stressful time this go around ... and I'll also count on a good 1st AD to keep me in check as well, since I won't be able to see myself on camera at the same time, lol.

Thanks guys. REALL looking forward to seeing what you do with the score on this Justin, especially since I think this genre (or anything epic) is totally your strenght!

Just updated the poster a little with an animated tagline ... still haven't found THE one I want yet! :)

I agree with Norm. Especially hearing some of the amazing scores you've done previously, I really am excited to see your work on this film. :)

Thanks rebecca! I'm pretty pumped myself. WHOLE notes and Piano. isn't that equation to all drama films? :) (j/k)

Thanks Herman! :)

Just finished the 1st draft of the script today, at about 9 pages. It's a rough, but a solid structure that Rebecca & I just need to trim back now, then see how it paces out.

K, Rebecca & her family just left my house, and we did more of a revision, but we'll call it Draft 2 anyway. Read the parts outloud, trying to pace it out, etc., and it came out to approx 5 minutes, so we'll have room to spare with adding more dramatic moments/beats, etc.

We both feel extremely good about it, and believe this is one that will leave people with a 'wow' effect on how it'll make them feel after watching it.

Since we're not filming until 1st or 2nd weekend of January, we'll have plenty of time for pre-production & planning. Will be updating the site with BTS, etc. soon.

We're still not sure if we'll shoot this DVX or HVX yet, depending on resources.

Cool, thanks Kyle ... she'll like hearing that. We've made sure this one has a pretty wide range of emotions, and she'll have some moments to just 'let it all out'. Really looking forward to rehearsals!

No doubt, it's great giving actors or actresses a totally blank canvas where they can splatter paint (emotion) all over it!!! this is going to be awesome, norm.

I just looked at your DP's reel, if I'm not mistaken I saw some shots from some pretty high profile stuff, that's awsome!
