Buy an HVX -- get a FREE 8Gb P2

I went to www.panasonic.com/p2 It lists two free 8 gig cards with the purchase of two of their other cam's, but nothing that I know of yet about the HVX. Just holding my breath, waiting for the "official" word from panny, and hoping that the details are all good.

It's pretty awesome of them, what they are offering, that's for sure.

Awesome: extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring great admiration, apprehension, or fear.

This board tends to use awesome to describe just about everything.

At least it doesn't suck.

take care

Not really Jason.

I do a lot product reviews.

"Awesome" has to be the most overused non descriptive word out there. It's used to describe everything from God to a good deal by Panasonic.

All I am pointing out is that when it is used to describe "everything," it means nothing.

We're all professionals, and sometimes we even have work well to communicate like a professional.

Using words like sucks or awesome is kind of flabby.

Communication is a crucial part of the professional process. If client asks you to describe how the video looked, sometimes you have to actually describe it.

I'm not picking on you. But the word is way overused IMHO.

Take care and you have a good day as well.

Awesome! This post def doesn't suck.

In product reviews, I can completely understand. But, speaking specifically of offering a free 8 gig card that costs 1000 bucks on its own, I think that is a better rebate than I have ever seen for anything I have ever purchased. And for that, it is awesome. Sorry. Had to squeeze it in one more time :)

Thanks,
Jason

Again, Jason I'm not picking on you, just the word.

On the other hand, the fact that I already bought my HVX200 kinda of sucks.

:)

Any idea if this is true. The site link makes no mention of the rebate. Or am I missing something. I was planning on buying one in the next two weeks; if this is true than I definitely will.

Anyone buying because of this deal should see if they could get two 4GB cards instead. It'd be much more useful unless you alread had plans to buy an additional card.

And with that...

Let's see some love extended to those of us who bought cameras in August. A free 4GB card perhaps? PULEEZ?

Europe anyone? hello.... Europe...

Panasonic wish to coment on why we are paying over $1500 more than our American counterparts and do not get any incentive to buy an HVX...???

The cheapest I can find an HVX from an official Panasonic dealer is £3600 ($6870)

If we are going to pay this much more the least I think you could do is include us in a free 8gb card??!!

Fellow Europeans agree?

No, we all love to pay extra. Especially with the Dollar being soooo low it makes total sense we pay so much more these days and on top of it get spoiled by NO DEALS at all. GRRRRRR......

Panasonic Europe wonders why SONY rules this part of the world......here´s why: they do the Microsoft thing: market an overpriced product better. And people buy it. Instead with deals like this Panasonic could penetrate the market in Europe, too. Get P2 out there so people use it instead of being scared by prices and workflow.

And to thinkl I bought an HVX last week and I almost cried because I could only afford a couple of 4 gig P2 cards.

Everybody`s talking about europe and USA, but what about Latin America? I live in Argentina, and bought an HVX here. I had to pay so much more than what it really costs, and, now this????????? a free 8gig card!!! only for purchases in the US? I don´t believe it...
.....

Panasonic Canada has just lowered the price of the HVX to $5400 (about $4800 US). Maybe that will happen in Europe/South America as well. They you could buy a P2 card.

Was at HD Expo today, confirmed with a reseller that this an official deal. They confirmed this info with their panasonic rep on the show floor.
