Free 8gb P2 card!? What does Panasonic have up their sleeve?

you need 3 cards really to get this camera working... and they need to be the same size... so you get 2 cards in the camera while one is downloading...

yes i guess you can but I'm shooting interviews and I feel if I have 16mins of shooting compared to 8mins of downloading I can get the P2 off loaded and re-formatted (still trying to figure out how to do this while the camera is recording...{maybe somebody can chime in "can you just clear the card off the computer}..

And then have continuous recording with a couple of mins spare...

Cheers

just to clarify, i believe that the nov.1st date is when the offer will appear on the website, but if you've purchased anytime after oct. 1st, you qualify for the offer.

would be great if we could get panny to verify these terms.

Great, indeed. I bought mine after that date.

If you purchased after October 1st?? Wait, that might be me... Oh, sh*t, I need to check my receipts.

OH MY GOD. Is This true? Spec-comm shipped my cameras on October, 3rd. Does that mean I am included in this special rebate? I ordered 2 HVX's. I would get 2 8 gig cards. Please, oh god, please, oh god. I have never won the lottery before

Sucks to be an early adopter. Man, would I love to have a 8GB P2 card for free. I'm still p2 cardless because of the price. Guess I'll have to keep using my powerbook G4 for a couple more months (hopefully) until the Cineporter comes out.

Just stick it in and break off why don't you, Jason? You are rapidly approaching the status as my least favorite poster. ;)

Yeah, it's a ***** but I'm actually pretty happy with how fast the price drops on cards have been. I'm seeing 4 gigers for $500 which I didn't think we'd see this soon. If this sells more cameras, more P2s, and thus causes the price to drop further then I'm extatic. That's why I don't really care when the 16 gig comes out as long as the price keeps dropping on the other cards. It makes no difference to me whether I have to wait 10, 20, or 40 minutes before switching cards since it takes all of a few seconds anyway.

We eurodiots are bummed again. How come in the US they always have these offers and here we are stuck with Panasonic Europe sitting on their butts?
Way to go to get P2 adopted. The price of P2 holds many from pulling the trigger on the HVX. With 8GB you can go out, get used to it and...... buy more.......
I hope we something like this in Europe soon.

nov 1 st and now live site

nov 1 st and now live site

So its Nov 1st and there is no site or anything saying that this deal is legit ?
If anyone sees it post it here to the official Pani site .

By the way, FWIW, the AJ-SPX800 and the AJ-SPC700 come with 2 free 8GB P2 cards and 1 additional year of warranty (until Dec 29th, 2006).

Yeah that offer was up yesterday / has been up for a while.
So I'm hoping that since this is supposed to go live Nov 1st it will show up onthe Panni Site soon and not just be a goofy rumor.

It would be truly awesome. I hope so.

On a side note, I just got around to registering my Cameras last night on Panasonics site. Is it an auto notification kinda thing? Like, if I entered my serial # incorrectly, I would know right away?
