Greetings everyone! I am pretty new here and havent posted much (once I think). But I thought this is worthy.... (please forgive me if it is in the wrong place, it is news/hardware so I figured here would be good). Apples latest monster has been unleashed... The new CORE 2 DUO Mac Book Pro!!!

Up to 3 gigs of RAM, 200 gig HD etc, etc............ ooooooohhhhhh, aaaahhhhhhhhhh........... :):):):):):)

Seriously though these are 64-bit processors. When FCP6 arrives, whenever, do you anticipate huge increases in processing?
 
I just noticed there is a similar topic like this started in the Hardware section but under a different title so it didnt pull up when I did a search. Actually it was a thread questioning when the new mac book pros would be updated so my bad if this is concidered a double post.
 
Argh now I feel like an idiot because I just posted this in DVXUser news!

Oh well, this is awesome! Maybe I'll have to buy a MacBook Pro now!

I'm not sure if this is good or not but my wife is MAKING me buy HER one. I told her to look at the 15" and she basically concidered that sacrilege....

As someone who has formerly been married, this is true, she's not an underworld spy. Wives are WAY more dangerous and powerful that that! Just remember that sleeping on the couch is really bad for your back, and your friends will NEVER stop making fun of you for it...
 
My ex has two masters degrees, is pure Atchfalya swamp coonass, and will turn you into alligator-chow in a heartbeat. Not to mention about as beautiful and hot as a woman can get.

After we divorced, she dated a guy fresh out of the Marines. One night, for some reason no one knows, she beat the living crap out of him. I saw him, he looked pretty bad.

Spartacus, I would definitely go with the matte screen. The glossy screens tend to have a bad glare if they are exposed to something like sunlight coming through the window etc.... Plus an apple rep told me that the matte screens are better for color correction.
 
My order is sitting in my cart, waiting for me to chooose Mac over food. I can probably handle a few more hungry days in exchange for the matte screen.

WHEN WILL THEY GIVE US HVX-ers OUR PCMCIA SLOTS BACK??!! BAH!

I heard people complain about the macbook screens, but on the apple site they say sth like "if you want better looking video go for the glossy screen"...
If I buy I´ll probably go for the matte one...
 
Has someone experience with glossy or matte screens of previous MBp since it was already an option in Europe for the MBp duocore !

Again which one is beter for edditing??
 
Actually, wife is an ex-spy and can often be found in the kitchen brewing a batch of Potassium Bromide, which they used to make KGB operatives die with all the symptoms of massive heart attacks.

I have a couple questions about these new computers.

1. does apple have any plans to release blu ray reader/writers for these laptops? If they do, can the be installed later?

2. These new pentium-based computers can dual boot with windows, correct?
 
Apple is pretty closed mouthed about its hardware plans.

The optical bay is not removable in any case.

And yes this is a dual boot Mac with XP Professional with SP2 installer.
